YK-66-1Yuddha Kanda 66.1

स लङ्घयित्वाप्राकारंगिरिकूटोपमोमहान् । निर्ययौनगरात्तूर्णंकुम्भकर्णोमहाबलः ।।6.66.1।।

sa laṅghayitvāprākārṃgirikūṭopamomahān | niryayaunagarāttūrṇṃkumbhakarṇomahābalḥ ||6.66.1||

Translation

गिरिकूटोपमः who resembled peak of mountain, महान् gigantic, महाबलः mighty, सःकुम्भकर्ण: Kumbhakarna, प्राकारं boundary, लङ्घयित्वा having crossed, तूर्णम् swiftly, नगरात् from the city, निर्ययौ roared.

Meaning

Mighty Kumbhakarna, a gigantic one, resembling a mountain peak, having swiftly crossed over the boundary of the city roared.

YK-66-2Yuddha Kanda 66.2

ननाद च महानादंसमुद्रमभिनादयन् । विजयन्निवनिर्घातन्विधमन्निवपर्वतान् ।।6.66.2।।

nanāda ca mahānādṃsamudramabhinādayan | vijayannivanirghātanvidhamannivaparvatān ||6.66.2||

Translation

निर्घातान् bringing out loud noise,विजयत्रि as if proclaiming victory, पर्वतान् mountains, विधमन् इव like breaking, महानादम् great sound, समुद्रम् ocean, अभिनादयन् reverberate, नादयन roared.

Meaning

Kumbhakarna roared making loud noises as if proclaiming victory, like the breaking of mountains and reverberating of ocean.

YK-66-3Yuddha Kanda 66.3

तमवध्यंमघवतायमेनवरुणेनवा । प्रेक्ष्यभीमाक्षमायान्तंवानराविप्रदुद्रुवुः ।।6.66.3।।

tamavadhyṃmaghavatāyamenavaruṇenavā | prekṣyabhīmākṣamāyāntṃvānarāvipradudruvuḥ ||6.66.3||

Translation

मघवता by Indra, यमेनby Yama, वरुणेनवा or even Varuna, अवध्यम् not be killed, भीमाक्षम् with frightening eyes, तम् him, प्रेक्ष्य observing, वानराः the Vanaras, विप्रदुद्रुवुः ran in fear.

Meaning

Observing that rakshasa with frightening eyes, who could not be killed by Indra or Yama or even by Varuna coming towards them the vanaras ran in fear.

YK-66-4Yuddha Kanda 66.4

तांस्तुविप्रद्रुतान् दृष्टवाराजपुत्रोऽङ्गदोऽब्रवीत् । नलंनीलंगवाक्षं च कुमुदं च महाबलम् ।।6.66.4।।

tāṃstuvipradrutān dṛṣṭavārājaputro'ṅgado'bravīt | nalṃnīlṃgavākṣṃ ca kumudṃ ca mahābalam ||6.66.4||

Translation

विप्रद्रुतान् running in fear, तान् them, नलम् Nala, नीलम् Nila, गवाक्षं च and Gavaksha, महाबलम् Mahabala, कुमुदम् Kumuda, दृष्टवा seeing, राजपुत्रः prince, अङ्गदःAngada, अब्रवीत् spoke

Meaning

Seeing the Vanaras running in fear, Angada spoke to Nala, Nila, Gavaksha, Mahabala and Kumuda.

YK-66-5Yuddha Kanda 66.5

आत्मानमत्रविस्मृत्यवीर्याण्यभिजनानि च । क्वगच्छतभयत्रस्ताःप्राकृताहरयोयथा ।।6.66.5।।

ātmānamatravismṛtyavīryāṇyabhijanāni ca | kvagacchatabhayatrastāḥprākṛtāharayoyathā ||6.66.5||

Translation

आत्मानम् yourself, अत्र there, वीर्याणि warriors, अभिजनानि च not knowing, विस्मृत्य forgetting, प्राकृताः by nature, हरयःयथा like the Vanaras, भयत्रस्ताः fearing, क्व where, गच्छत are you going.

Meaning

"Forgetting yourself, that you are warriors, not knowing by nature, being Vanaras where are you going?"

YK-66-6Yuddha Kanda 66.6

साधुसौम्या निवर्तध्वंकिप्राणान्परिरक्षथ । नालंयुद्धायवैरक्षोमहतीयंबिभीषका ।।6.66.6।।

sādhusaumyā nivartadhvṃkiprāṇānparirakṣatha | nālṃyuddhāyavairakṣomahatīyṃbibhīṣakā ||6.66.6||

Translation

सौम्याः good, साधु modest, निवर्तध्वम् return, प्राणान् life, किम् why, परिरक्षथ protecting, रक्षः Rakshasa, युद्धाय in war, नालम् not capable facing, इयम् this, महती great, बिभीषिका who can create fear.

Meaning

"O good Vanaras! You are modest. Return. Why are you protecting your life? This Rakshasa is not capable of facing war. He can create only fear."

YK-66-7Yuddha Kanda 66.7

महतीमुथतितामेनांराक्षसानांबिभीषिकाम् । विक्रमाद्विधमिष्यामोनिवर्तध्वंप्लवङ्गमाः ।।6.66.7।।

mahatīmuthatitāmenāṃrākṣasānāṃbibhīṣikām | vikramādvidhamiṣyāmonivartadhvṃplavaṅgamāḥ ||6.66.7||

Translation

प्लवङ्गमाः Vanaras, राक्षसानाम् Rakshasas, उथतिताम् dispel, महतीम् huge, एनांबिभीषिकाम् this nightmare, विक्रमात् with our power, विधमिष्यामः kill them, निवर्तध्वम् come back.

Meaning

"O Vanaras! We will dispel this huge rakshasa, a nightmare with our power. Come back."

YK-66-8Yuddha Kanda 66.8

कृच्छ्रेणतुसमाश्वस्यसङ्गम्य च ततस्ततः । वृक्षाद्रिहस्ताहरयस्सम्प्रतस्थूरणाजिरम् ।।6.66.8।।

kṛcchreṇatusamāśvasyasaṅgamya ca tatastatḥ | vṛkṣādrihastāharayassampratasthūraṇājiram ||6.66.8||

Translation

हरयः Vanaras, कृच्छ्रेण from distress, समाश्वस्य getting over fear, ततस्ततः from here and there, सङ्गम्य getting together, वृक्षान् trees, हस्ता by hand, रणाजिरम् to battlefield, सम्प्रतस्थुः proceeded.

Meaning

Overcoming fear, the Vanaras getting together from here and there holding trees by hand, proceeded to the battlefield.

YK-66-9Yuddha Kanda 66.9

तेनिवृत्यतुसङ्कृद्धाःकुम्भकर्णंवनौकसः । निर्जघ्नुःपरमक्रुद्धास्समदाइवकुञ्जराः ।।6.66.9।।

tenivṛtyatusaṅkṛddhāḥkumbhakarṇṃvanaukasḥ | nirjaghnuḥparamakruddhāssamadāivakuñjarāḥ ||6.66.9||

Translation

ते those, वनौकसः forest rangers, निवृत्य turning back, सङ्कृद्दाः to hit, परमक्रुद्धाः extremely angry, समदाः who were determined, कुञ्चराःइव like elephants in rut, कुम्भकर्णम् at Kumbhakarna, निर्जघ्नुः to vanquish him.

Meaning

Those forest rangers who were extremely enraged turned back to hit, determined like the elephants in rut went to vanquish Kumbhakarna.

YK-66-10Yuddha Kanda 66.10

प्रांशुभिर्गिरिशृङ्गैश्चशिलाभिश्चमहाबलः । पादपैःपुष्पिताग्रैश्चहन्यमानो न कम्पते ।।6.66.10।।

prāṃśubhirgiriśṛṅgaiścaśilābhiścamahābalḥ | pādapaiḥpuṣpitāgraiścahanyamāno na kampate ||6.66.10||

Translation

शुभिः lofty, गिरिशृङ्गैश्च mountain peaks, शिलाभिश्च rocks also, पुष्टिताग्रैः trees with blossoms on top tops, पादपैः trees, हन्यमानः though hit, महाबलः Kumbhakarna, न कम्पते not shaken.

Meaning

Though Kumbhakarna was hit with lofty mountain peaks and trees with blossoms at crests, he was not shaken.

YK-66-11Yuddha Kanda 66.11

तस्यगात्रेषुपतिताभिद्यन्तेशतशश्शिलाः । पादपाःपुष्पिताग्राश्चभग्नाःपेतुर्महीतले ।।6.66.11।।

tasyagātreṣupatitābhidyanteśataśaśśilāḥ | pādapāḥpuṣpitāgrāścabhagnāḥpeturmahītale ||6.66.11||

Translation

तस्य his, गात्रेषु limbs, पतिताःfallen, बहवः many, शिलाः rocks, भिद्यन्ते were broken, पुष्पिताग्राश्च even the treetops with blossoms, पादपाः trees, भग्नाः broken, महीतले fell on the ground, पेतुः shattered.

Meaning

Fallen on his limbs many rocks got broken, even the treetops with blossoms were broken and fell on the ground.

YK-66-12Yuddha Kanda 66.12

सोऽपिसैन्यानिसङ्क्रुद्धोवानराणांमहौजसाम् । ममन्थपरमायत्तोवनान्यग्निरिवोत्थितः ।।6.66.12।।

so'pisainyānisaṅkruddhovānarāṇāṃmahaujasām | mamanthaparamāyattovanānyagnirivotthitḥ ||6.66.12||

Translation

सःअपि he also, सङ्क्रुद्धः enraged, परमायत्तः the great, उत्थितः burst, अग्नि: fire, वनानीव forest, महौजसाम् endowed with extraordinary vigour, वानराणाम् Vanaras, सैन्यानि army, ममन्थ to destroy.

Meaning

Enraged Kumbhakarna began to destroy Vanaras endowed with extraordinary vigour, just as great forest fire burns the forest.

YK-66-13Yuddha Kanda 66.13

लोहितार्द्रास्तुबहवश्शेरतेवानरर्षभाः । निरस्तांपतिताभूमौताम्रपुष्पाइवद्रुमाः ।।6.66.13।।

lohitārdrāstubahavaśśeratevānararṣabhāḥ | nirastāṃpatitābhūmautāmrapuṣpāivadrumāḥ ||6.66.13||

Translation

बहवः many, वानरर्षभाः bulls among Vanaras, लोहितार्द्रा: trees with red flowers on top, निरस्ताः tossed, भूमौ on the ground, पतिताः fallen, ताम्रपुष्पाः red flowers, द्रुमाःयथा like trees lay in blood.

Meaning

Many bulls among the Vanaras lay on the ground like trees with red flowers on top tossed and fallen on the ground.

YK-66-14Yuddha Kanda 66.14

लङ्घयन्तःप्रधावन्तोवानरानावलोकयन् । केचित्समुद्रेपतिताःकेचिद्गगनमास्थिताः ।।6.66.14।।

laṅghayantḥpradhāvantovānarānāvalokayan | kecitsamudrepatitāḥkecidgaganamāsthitāḥ ||6.66.14||

Translation

वानराः Vanaras, लङ्घयन्तः leaping, प्रधावन्तः flying, नावलोकयन् not turning back to see, केचित् indeed, समुद्रे ocean, पतिताः dropped, केचित् some, गगनम् space, आस्थिताः flew.

Meaning

The Vanaras leapt without looking back. Indeed, some dropped into the ocean, and some flew into space.

YK-66-15Yuddha Kanda 66.15

वध्यमानास्तुतेवीराराक्षसेन च लीलया । सागरंयेनतेतीर्णाःपथातेनदुद्रुवुः ।।6.66.15।।

vadhyamānāstutevīrārākṣasena ca līlayā | sāgarṃyenatetīrṇāḥpathātenadudruvuḥ ||6.66.15||

Translation

राक्षसेन by Rakshasas, लीलया struck by, वध्यमानाः struck by, तेवीराः those heroes, येनपथा by the path, सागरम् ocean, तीर्णाः crossed, पथातेन by the same path, दुद्रुवुः ran.

Meaning

Struck by Rakshasa, the Vanaras ran in the same path crossing the ocean (by which they came).

YK-66-16Yuddha Kanda 66.16

तेस्थलानितदानिम्नंविवर्णमानाभयात् । ऋक्षावृक्षान् समारूढाःकेचित्पर्वतमाश्रिताः ।।6.66.16।।

testhalānitadānimnṃvivarṇamānābhayāt | ṛkṣāvṛkṣān samārūḍhāḥkecitparvatamāśritāḥ ||6.66.16||

Translation

तदा then, भयात् out of fear, विवर्णवदनाः pale countenance, ते they, स्थलानि location, निम्नम् plains, ऋक्षाः Bears, वृक्षान् trees, समारूढाः climbed up, केचित् some, पर्वतम् mountains, आश्रिताः sought resort.

Meaning

Out of fear the vanaras rushed to plains with pale countenance, some climbed up mountains and bears climbed up trees.

YK-66-17Yuddha Kanda 66.17

ममज्जुरर्णवेकेचिद्गुहाःकेचित्समाश्रिताः । निपेतुःकेचिदपरेकेचिन्नैवावतस्थिरे ।।6.66.17।। केचिद्भूमौनिपतिताःकेचित्सुप्तामृताइव ।

mamajjurarṇavekecidguhāḥkecitsamāśritāḥ | nipetuḥkecidaparekecinnaivāvatasthire ||6.66.17|| kecidbhūmaunipatitāḥkecitsuptāmṛtāiva |

Translation

केचित् some, अर्णवे ocean, ममज्जुः drowned, केचित् some, गुहाः caves, समाश्रिताः took shelter, अपरेकेचित् and some others, निपेतुः not knowing anything, केचित् some, नैवअवतस्थिरे sat down, केचित् some, भूमौ on the ground, निपतिताः fallen, केचित् some, मृताः इव as if deadसुप्ताः slept.

Meaning

Some drowned in the ocean, some entered into the caves, some others not knowing what to do sat down and others fell on the ground and some slept as if dead.

YK-66-18Yuddha Kanda 66.18

तान्समीक्ष्याङ्गदोभग्नान्वानरानिदमब्रवीत् ।।6.66.18।। अवतिष्ठतयुध्यामोनिवर्तध्वंप्लवङ्गमाः ।

tānsamīkṣyāṅgadobhagnānvānarānidamabravīt ||6.66.18|| avatiṣṭhatayudhyāmonivartadhvṃplavaṅgamāḥ |

Translation

अङ्गदःAngada, भग्नान् routed, तान् them, वानरान् Vanaras, समीक्ष्य observing, इदम् thus, अब्रवीत् spoke, प्लवङ्गमाः to the monkeys, अवतिष्ठत stay, निवर्तध्वम् return, युध्यामः will fight.

Meaning

Seeing the monkeys routed, Angada spoke, 'Stay, return back. We will fight'

YK-66-19Yuddha Kanda 66.19

भग्नानांवो न पश्यामिपरिगम्यमहीमिमाम् ।।6.66.19।। स्थानंसर्वेनिवर्तध्वंकिंप्राणान् परिरक्षथ ।

bhagnānāṃvo na paśyāmiparigamyamahīmimām ||6.66.19|| sthānṃsarvenivartadhvṃkiṃprāṇān parirakṣatha |

Translation

इमाम् this, महीम् globe, परिक्रम्य go round, भग्नानाम् routed, वः or, स्थानम् place, न पश्यामि not see, सर्वे all, निवर्तध्वम् return, प्राणान् life, किम् why, परिरक्षथ refuge.

Meaning

"I do not see any refuge for you even if you go round the globe. All of you return back. Why do you preserve life?"

YK-66-20Yuddha Kanda 66.20

निरायुधानांद्रवतामसङ्गगतिपौरुषाः ।।6.66.20।। दाराह्युपहसिष्यन्ति स वैघातस्तुजीवताम् ।

nirāyudhānāṃdravatāmasaṅgagatipauruṣāḥ ||6.66.20|| dārāhyupahasiṣyanti sa vaighātastujīvatām |

Translation

असङ्गगतिपौरुषाः whose valour can't be challenged, निरायुधानाम् abandoning weapons, द्रवताम् run away, दाराः wives, उपहसिष्यन्ति will ridicule, जीवताम् life, सः for those, घातःवै indeed more than death.

Meaning

"Monkeys! Your valour can't be challenged. If you run away for life abandoning weapons even your wives will ridicule you. That is more than death."

YK-66-21-22Yuddha Kanda 66.21–22 (युग्मम्)

कुलेषुजातास्सर्वेस्मविस्तीर्णेषुमहत्सु च ।।6.66.21।। क्वगच्छतभयत्रस्ताःहरयःप्राकृतायथा । अनार्याःखलुयद्भीतास्त्यक्त्वावीर्यंप्रधावत ।।6.66.22।।

kuleṣujātāssarvesmavistīrṇeṣumahatsu ca ||6.66.21|| kvagacchatabhayatrastāḥharayḥprākṛtāyathā | anāryāḥkhaluyadbhītāstyaktvāvīryṃpradhāvata ||6.66.22||

Translation

सर्वे all, विस्तीर्णेषु widely spread, महत्सु च noble also, कुलेषु clan, जाताःस्म born into, प्राकृताः ordinary, हरयःयथा monkeys like, भयत्रस्ताः in fear, क्व why, गच्छत go, वीर्यम् valour, त्यक्त्वा giving up, भीताः terrified, यत् as if, प्रधावत running away, अनार्याःखलु not worthy of.

Meaning

"You are born in noble families, and are widely spread. As such why are you running away like ordinary monkeys as if terrified giving up your valour. It is not worthy of you."

YK-66-23Yuddha Kanda 66.23

विकत्थनानिवोयानि तदावैजनसंसदि । तानिवःक्वनुयातानिसोदग्राणिम हितानि च ।।6.66.23।।

vikatthanānivoyāni tadāvaijanasṃsadi | tānivḥkvanuyātānisodagrāṇima hitāni ca ||6.66.23||

Translation

यानि earlier, जनसंसदि in assembly of people, वः or else, सोदग्राणि made vigorous statements, महान्ति च acclaimed highly, यातानि such you, विकत्थनानि selfpraise, वः such you, all that, क्व where, गतानि has it gone.

Meaning

"Earlier in the assembly of people you made vigorous statements and acclaimed yourselves highly with selfpraise. Where has it gone?"

YK-66-24Yuddha Kanda 66.24

भीरुप्रवादाश्श्रूयन्तेयस्तुजीवतिधिक्कृतः । मार्गस्सत्पुरुषैर्जष्टःसेव्यतांत्यज्यतांभयम् ।।6.66.24।।

bhīrupravādāśśrūyanteyastujīvatidhikkṛtḥ | mārgassatpuruṣairjaṣṭḥsevyatāṃtyajyatāṃbhayam ||6.66.24||

Translation

यः he who, धिक्कृतः having been defeated, जीवति lives, भीरोः timid, प्रवादाः will say, श्रूयन्ते will tell, सत्पुरुषैः good people, जुष्टः resorting to, मार्गः path, सेव्यताम् following, भयम् fear, त्यज्यताम् giving up.

Meaning

"He who is defeated lives, but people will say he is timid. Resorting to the path of good people and serving them gives up fear."

YK-66-25Yuddha Kanda 66.25

शयामहेऽनिहताःपृथिव्यामल्पजीविताः । दुष्प्रापंब्रह्मलोकंवाप्राप्नुयामोयुधिसूदिता ।।6.66.25।।

śayāmahe'nihatāḥpṛthivyāmalpajīvitāḥ | duṣprāpṃbrahmalokṃvāprāpnuyāmoyudhisūditā ||6.66.25||

Translation

अल्पजीविताः life span is reduced, निहताः having been killed, पृथिव्याम् in the world, शयामहेवाfall, युधिसूदिता killed in war, दुष्प्रापम् difficult to attain, ब्रह्मलोकम् world of Brahma, प्राप्नुयामः च will attain.

Meaning

"If we are killed in war, fallen dead on the ground and our life span is reduced, we will attain the realm of Brahma which is difficult to attain."

YK-66-26Yuddha Kanda 66.26

सम्प्राप्नुयामःकीर्तिंवानिहत्वाशत्रुमाहवे । जीवितंवीरलोकस्यमोक्ष्यामोवसुवानराः ।।6.66.26।।

samprāpnuyāmḥkīrtiṃvānihatvāśatrumāhave | jīvitṃvīralokasyamokṣyāmovasuvānarāḥ ||6.66.26||

Translation

वानराः Vanara, आहवे we will, शत्रुम् the enemy, निहत्वा killing, कीर्तिम् fame, सम्प्राप्नुयामः will attain, वा or else, जीवितः life, वीरलोकस्य in the world of Brahma, वसु will be, मोक्ष्यामः liberated.

Meaning

"By killing the enemy, we will attain fame. Or else we will attain the world of Brahma, liberated."

YK-66-27Yuddha Kanda 66.27

न कुम्भकर्णःकाकुत्स्थंदृष्टवाजीवन् गमिष्यति । दीप्यमानमिवासाद्यपतङ्गोज्वलनंयथा ।।6.66.27।।

na kumbhakarṇḥkākutsthṃdṛṣṭavājīvan gamiṣyati | dīpyamānamivāsādyapataṅgojvalanṃyathā ||6.66.27||

Translation

पतङ्गः fly, दीप्यमानम् reaching flame, ज्वलनम् blazing, आसाद्यइवयथा not possible to escape, कुम्भकर्णः for Kumbhakarna, काकुत्स्थम् Kakuthsa, दृष्टवा seeing, जीवन् life, न गच्छति not escape.

Meaning

"Just as flies reaching the blazing fire can't escape, so also Kumbhakarna can't escape with life after facing Kakuthsa."

YK-66-28Yuddha Kanda 66.28

लायनेनचोद्धिष्टाःप्राणान् रक्षामहेवयम् । एकेनबहवोभग्नायशोनाशंगमिष्यति ।।6.66.28।।

lāyanenacoddhiṣṭāḥprāṇān rakṣāmahevayam | ekenabahavobhagnāyaśonāśṃgamiṣyati ||6.66.28||

Translation

एकेन by one, भग्नाः destroyed, बहवः though many, उददिष्टाः distinguished, वयम् we, पलायनने by running away, प्राणान् life, रक्षामहे protect, यशः glory, नाशम् gone, गमिष्यति come to an end.

Meaning

"Even though we are distinguished, if we preserve our life by running away for life, destroyed by one, our glory will come to an end."

YK-66-29Yuddha Kanda 66.29

एवंब्रुवाणंतंशूरमङ्गदंकनकाङ्गदम् । द्रवमाणास्ततोवाक्यमूचुःशूरुविगर्हितम् ।।6.66.29।।

evṃbruvāṇṃtṃśūramaṅgadṃkanakāṅgadam | dravamāṇāstatovākyamūcuḥśūruvigarhitam ||6.66.29||

Translation

द्रवमाणाः fleeing away, एवम् in that manner, ब्रुवाणम् speaking, कनकाङ्गदम् adorned with gold armlets, शूरम् to the heroes, तम् that, अङ्गदम् Angada, ततः thereafter, शूरुविगर्हितम् condemned by hero, वाक्यम् words, ऊचुः said.

Meaning

While the heroic Angada, adorned with gold armlets, was speaking in that manner to the fleeing vanara heroes, condemned by the hero the vanaras replied as follows.

YK-66-30Yuddha Kanda 66.30

कृतंनःकदनंघोरंकुम्भकर्णेनरक्षसा । न स्थानकालोगच्छामोदयितंजीवितंहिनः ।।6.66.30।।

kṛtṃnḥkadanṃghorṃkumbhakarṇenarakṣasā | na sthānakālogacchāmodayitṃjīvitṃhinḥ ||6.66.30||

Translation

नः us, रक्षसा Rakshasa, कुम्भकर्णेनKumbhakarna, घोरम् dreadful, कदनम् havoc, कृतम् done, स्थानकालः moment to stay, न not, नः we, जीवितम् our life, दयितंहि dear to us.

Meaning

"Kumbhakarna, the Rakshasa has done havoc to us. This is not the moment to stay. Our life is dear to us."

YK-66-31Yuddha Kanda 66.31

एतावदुक्त्वावचनंसर्वेतेभेजिरेदिशः । भीमंभीमाक्षमायान्तंदृष्टवावानरयूथपाः ।।6.66.31।।

etāvaduktvāvacanṃsarvetebhejirediśḥ | bhīmṃbhīmākṣamāyāntṃdṛṣṭavāvānarayūthapāḥ ||6.66.31||

Translation

सर्वे all,एता to you. वानरयूथपाः Vanara troops, भीमाक्षम् frightful eyes, भीमम् fear, आयान्तम् coming towards, दृष्टवा seeing, एतावत् in that way, वचनम्words, उक्त्वा having spoken, दिशः directions, भेजिरे scattered.

Meaning

द्रवमाणस्तुतेवीराअङ्गदेनवलीमुखाः । सान्त्वैश्चैहनुमानैश्चततस्सर्वेनिवर्तिताः ।।6.66.32।।

dravamāṇastutevīrāaṅgadenavalīmukhāḥ | sāntvaiścaihanumānaiścatatassarvenivartitāḥ ||6.66.32||

Translation

द्रवमाणाः running away, वीराः heroes, ते you are, वलीमुखाः to return back, सरेततः wherever they were, अङ्गदेन by Angada, सान्त्वैश्चै with good words, अनुमानैश्च by examples, निवर्तिताः turned.

Meaning

Though the heroic monkeys were running away, Angada by his good words and examples turned them to return from wherever they were.

YK-66-33Yuddha Kanda 66.33

प्रहर्षमुपनीताश्चवालिपुत्रेणधीमता । आज्ञाप्रतीक्षास्तस्थुश्चसर्वेवानरयूथपाः ।।6.66.33।।

praharṣamupanītāścavāliputreṇadhīmatā | ājñāpratīkṣāstasthuścasarvevānarayūthapāḥ ||6.66.33||

Translation

सर्वे all, वानरयूथपाः Vanara troops, धीमता wise, वालिपुत्रेण Vali's son, प्रहर्षम् happily, उपनीताः च restored, आज्ञाप्रतीक्षाः awaiting command, तस्थुः च stood

Meaning

All the Vanara troops having heard Angada, son of Vali happily restored awaiting his command.

ऋषभशरभमैन्दधूम्रनीलाःकुमुदसुषेणगवाक्षरम्भताराः । द्विविदपनसवायुपुत्रमुख्यास्त्वरिततराभिमुखंरणं ।।6.66.34।।

ṛṣabhaśarabhamaindadhūmranīlāḥkumudasuṣeṇagavākṣarambhatārāḥ | dvividapanasavāyuputramukhyāstvaritatarābhimukhṃraṇṃ ||6.66.34||

Translation

ऋषभशरभमैन्धधूम्रनीलाः Rshaba, Sarabha, Mainda, Dhruma and Nila, कुमुदसुषेणगवाक्षम्भताराः Kumuda, Susena, Gavaksha, Rambha, and Tara, द्विविदपनसवायुपुत्रमुख्याः Dwivida, Panasa, and Hanuman, त्वरिततराभिमुखम् marched ahead swiftly, रणम् to the battlefield, प्रयाताः quickly.

Meaning
