YK-49-1-2Yuddha Kanda 49.1–2 (युग्मम्)

घोरेणशरबन्धेनबद्धौदशरथात्मजौ । निःश्वसन्तौयथानागौशयानौरुधिरोक्षितौ ।।6.49.1।। सर्वेतेवानरश्रेष्ठास्ससुग्रीवामहाबलाः । परिवार्यमहात्मानौतस्थुश्शोकपरिप्लुताः ।।6.49.2।।

ghoreṇaśarabandhenabaddhaudaśarathātmajau | niḥśvasantauyathānāgauśayānaurudhirokṣitau ||6.49.1|| sarvetevānaraśreṣṭhāssasugrīvāmahābalāḥ | parivāryamahātmānautasthuśśokapariplutāḥ ||6.49.2||

Translation

ससुग्रीवाः that Sugriva, महाबलाः very powerful, सर्वे all, तेवानरश्रेष्ठाः best of Vanaras, घोरेण horrible, शरबन्धेन caught in network of arrows, बद्धौ bound, नागौयथा like serpents, निःश्वसन्तौ sighing, रुधिरोक्षितौ covered with blood, शयानौ lying, महात्मानौ great souls, दशरथात्मजौ Dasaratha's sons, परिवार्य surrounding, शोकपरिप्लुताः immersed in sorrow, तस्थुः were.

Meaning

Sugriva, the very powerful one and all the best of Vanaras stood immersed in sorrow surrounding the great sons of Dasaratha, who were lying on the ground bound by a network of arrows like serpents, sighing, bodies covered with blood.

YK-49-3Yuddha Kanda 49.3

एतस्मिन्नन्तरेरामःप्रत्यबुध्यतवीर्यवान् । स्थिरत्वात्सत्त्वयोगाच्चशरैस्सन्दानितोऽपिसन् ।।6.49.3।।

etasminnantarerāmḥpratyabudhyatavīryavān | sthiratvātsattvayogāccaśaraissandānito'pisan ||6.49.3||

Translation

एतस्मिन् अन्तरे in the meantime, वीर्यवान् heroic, रामः Rama, शरैः arrows, सन्दानितोऽपि although bound, स्थिरत्वात् man of fortitude, सत्त्वयोगात् च and established in spiritual discipline, प्रत्यबुध्यत returned to consciousness.

Meaning

In the meantime, Rama, although bound, being a man of fortitude established in spiritual discipline, returned to consciousness.

YK-49-4Yuddha Kanda 49.4

ततोदृष्टवासरुधिरंनिषण्णंगाढमर्पितम् । भ्रातरंदीनवदनंपर्यदेवयदातुरः ।।6.49.4।।

tatodṛṣṭavāsarudhirṃniṣaṇṇṃgāḍhamarpitam | bhrātarṃdīnavadanṃparyadevayadāturḥ ||6.49.4||

Translation

ततः thereafter, सरुधिरम् the blood, विषण्णम् in agony, गाढम् severe, अर्पितम् bound, दीनवदनम् piteous countenance, भ्रातरम् brother, दृष्टवा seeing, आतुरः injured, पर्यदेवयत् lamented.

Meaning

There after seeing the piteous countenance of his brother, bound, and injured, Rama lamented.

YK-49-5Yuddha Kanda 49.5

किंनुमेसीतयाकार्यंकिंकार्यंजीवितेनवा । शयानंयोऽद्यपश्यामिभ्रातरंयुधिनिर्जितम् ।।6.49.5।।

kiṃnumesītayākāryṃkiṃkāryṃjīvitenavā | śayānṃyo'dyapaśyāmibhrātarṃyudhinirjitam ||6.49.5||

Translation

यः of what, अद्य my use, युधि in war, निर्जितम् lifeless, शयानम् lying, भ्रातरम् brother, पश्यामि behold, मे my, सीतया Sita, किंनुकार्यम् What accomplishment, जीवितेनवा even of life, किंकार्यम् of what use.

Meaning

"Of what purpose is my life when I behold my brother lying lifeless in war? What do I have with Sita? Or even with my life?"

YK-49-6Yuddha Kanda 49.6

शक्यासीतासमानारीमर्त्यलोकेविचिन्वता । नलक्ष्मणसमोभ्रातासचिवस्साम्पपरायिकः ।।6.49.6।।

śakyāsītāsamānārīmartyalokevicinvatā | nalakṣmaṇasamobhrātāsacivassāmpaparāyikḥ ||6.49.6||

Translation

मर्त्यलोके mortal world, विचिन्वता look for, सीतासमा equal to Sita, नारी woman, शक्या possible, सचिवः friend, साम्परायिकः capable, लक्ष्मणसमः Lakshmana like, भ्राता brother, न not.

Meaning

"In a mortal world I can look for a woman like Sita but not possible to find a helpful and capable brother."

YK-49-7Yuddha Kanda 49.7

परित्यक्षाम्यहंप्राणान्वानराणांतुपश्याताम् । यदिपञ्चत्वमापन्नस्सुमित्रानन्दवर्धनः ।।6.49.7।।

parityakṣāmyahṃprāṇānvānarāṇāṃtupaśyātām | yadipañcatvamāpannassumitrānandavardhanḥ ||6.49.7||

Translation

सुमित्रानन्दवर्धनः Sumithra's dear son, पञ्चत्वम् killedmerging with five elements, आपन्नः happens यदि if it, अहम् I, वानराणाम् Vanaras also, पश्यताम् as they behold, प्राणान् life, परित्यक्ष्यामि will give up life.

Meaning

"If Sumithra's dear son gets merged with the five elements, I will give up my life as the Vanaras are beholding."

YK-49-8Yuddha Kanda 49.8

किंनुवक्ष्यामिकौसल्यांमातरंकिंनुकैकयीम् । कथमम्बांसुमित्रांचपुत्रदर्शनलालसाम् ।।6.49.8।।

kiṃnuvakṣyāmikausalyāṃmātarṃkiṃnukaikayīm | kathamambāṃsumitrāṃcaputradarśanalālasām ||6.49.8||

Translation

मातरम् mother, कौसल्याम् to Kausalya, किंनुवक्ष्यामि What can I say, कैकयीम् to Kaikeyi, किंनु What to say, पुत्रदर्शनलालसाम् waiting to see the son, अम्बाम् mother, सुमित्राम् to Sumithra, कथम् What.

Meaning

"What can I say to mother Kausalya, Kaikeyi and mother Sumithra waiting to see her son?"

YK-49-9Yuddha Kanda 49.9

विवत्सांवेपमानांचक्रोशन्तींकुररीमिव । कथमाश्वासयिष्यामियदियास्यामितंविना ।।6.49.9।।

vivatsāṃvepamānāṃcakrośantīṃkurarīmiva | kathamāśvāsayiṣyāmiyadiyāsyāmitṃvinā ||6.49.9||

Translation

तंविना without him, यास्यामियदि if I go, विवत्साम् without son, वेपमानांच and trembling, कुररीमिव a female osprey, क्रोशन्तीम् crying aloud, कथम् how, आश्वासयिष्यामि can console.

Meaning

"If I go to Ayodhya without him, how can I console Sumithra crying aloud like a female osprey?"

YK-49-10Yuddha Kanda 49.10

कथंवक्ष्यामिशत्रुघ्नंभरतंचयशस्विनम् । मयासहवनंयातोविनातेनापुनमागतः ।।6.49.10।।

kathṃvakṣyāmiśatrughnṃbharatṃcayaśasvinam | mayāsahavanṃyātovinātenāpunamāgatḥ ||6.49.10||

Translation

मयासह along with me, वनम् forest, यातः return, तेनविना bereft of him, अहम् I, आगतः go, शत्रघ्नम् Satrughna, यशस्विनम् of great fame, भरतम् Bharata, कथम् how, वक्ष्यामि can I say, पुनः again.

Meaning

"How can I return bereft of Lakshmana who went with me to the forest? What can I tell Satrughna, also the Bharata of great fame?"

YK-49-11Yuddha Kanda 49.11

उपालम्बंनशक्ष्यामिसोढुंबतसुमित्रया । इहैवदेहंत्यक्ष्यामिनहिजीवितुमुत्सहे ।।6.49.11।।

upālambṃnaśakṣyāmisoḍhuṃbatasumitrayā | ihaivadehṃtyakṣyāminahijīvitumutsahe ||6.49.11||

Translation

बत tell, सुमित्रया to Sumithra, उपालम्भम् endure, सोढुम् blame, नशक्ष्यामि not tolerate, इहैव here itself, देहम् body, त्यक्ष्यामि will give up, जीवितुम् life, नउत्सहे not bear.

Meaning

"If Sumithra asks me, I can't endure. I cannot bear it. I shall give up my body, my life here itself."

YK-49-12Yuddha Kanda 49.12

धिङ्मांदुष्कृतकर्माणमनार्यंमत्कृतेह्यसौ । लक्ष्मणःपतितश्शेतेशरतल्पेगतासुवत् ।।6.49.12।।

dhiṅmāṃduṣkṛtakarmāṇamanāryṃmatkṛtehyasau | lakṣmaṇḥpatitaśśeteśaratalpegatāsuvat ||6.49.12||

Translation

दुष्कृतकर्माणाम् of sinful deeds, अनार्यम् not noble, माम् me, धिक् What a pity, मत्कृते by my action, असौ Oh, लक्ष्मणः Lakshmana, पतितः sinful, गतासुवत् whose life has departed, शरतल्पे on bed of arrows, शेतेहि let him be burnt.

Meaning

"What a pity! Me of sinful deeds and not a noble one, because of whose action Lakshmana's life having departed and lying on the bed of arrows."

YK-49-13Yuddha Kanda 49.13

त्वंनित्यंसुविषण्णंमामाश्वासयसिलक्ष्मण । गतासुर्नाद्यशक्तोऽसिमामार्तमभिभाषितुम् ।।6.49.13।।

tvṃnityṃsuviṣaṇṇṃmāmāśvāsayasilakṣmaṇa | gatāsurnādyaśakto'simāmārtamabhibhāṣitum ||6.49.13||

Translation

लक्ष्मण Lakshmana, त्वम् you were, नित्यम् always, सुविषण्णम् sad, माम् me, आश्वासयसि comforted, अद्य now, गतासुः ceased of life, आर्तम् grieved, माम् me, अभिभाषितुम् to comfort, शक्तः capable, नासि not.

Meaning

"You were always comforting me when I was sad. Now however much I am grieved, ceased of life you cannot comfort me."

YK-49-14Yuddha Kanda 49.14

येनाद्यबहवोयुद्धेनिहताराक्षसाविनिपातिताः । तस्यामेवाद्यशूरस्त्वंशेषेविनिहतःपरैः ।।6.49.14।।

yenādyabahavoyuddhenihatārākṣasāvinipātitāḥ | tasyāmevādyaśūrastvṃśeṣevinihatḥparaiḥ ||6.49.14||

Translation

येन who, अद्य now, युद्धे in war, बहवः many, राक्षसाः Rakshasas, विनिपातिताः injured and thrown down, निहताः struck down, शूरः by arrows, त्वम् such you, अद्य now, परैः fallen, निहतः killed, तस्यामेव there itself, शेषे unconscious.

Meaning

"You, who have struck down many Rakshasas in war, are lying unconscious on the same ground struck by arrows."

YK-49-15Yuddha Kanda 49.15

शयानःशरतल्पेऽस्मिन् सशोणितपरिप्लुतः । शरजालैचशितोभासिभास्करोऽस्तमिवव्रजन् ।।6.49.15।।

śayānḥśaratalpe'smin saśoṇitapariplutḥ | śarajālaicaśitobhāsibhāskaro'stamivavrajan ||6.49.15||

Translation

शरजालैः by the network of arrows, चितः lying, शोणितपरिप्लुतः blood flowing, अस्मिन् his, शरतल्पे bed of arrows, शयानः lying, सः he, अस्तम् his own, व्रजन् sinking, भास्करःइव like the sun, भासि remains shining.

Meaning

"Lying on the bed of arrows in the network of arrows, blood flowing out from the body he remains shining like the setting sun."

YK-49-16Yuddha Kanda 49.16

बाणाभिहतमर्मत्वान्नशक्नोत्यभिभाषितुम् । रुजाचाब्रुवतोऽप्यस्यदृष्टिरागेणसूच्यते ।।6.49.16।।

bāṇābhihatamarmatvānnaśaknotyabhibhāṣitum | rujācābruvato'pyasyadṛṣṭirāgeṇasūcyate ||6.49.16||

Translation

बाणाभिहतमर्मत्वात् struck in the vital parts by the arrows, अभिभाषितुम् to speak, नशक्नोति, अब्रुवतोऽपि not possible, अस्य his, रुजा anguish, दृष्टिरागेण his looks, सूच्यते indicating.

Meaning

"Struck in the vital parts by the arrows, it is not possible for you to speak, but your anguish is indicated in your looks."

YK-49-17Yuddha Kanda 49.17

यथैवमांवनंयान्तमनुयातोमहाद्युतिः । अहमप्यनुयास्यामितथैवैनंयमक्ष्यम् ।।6.49.17।।

yathaivamāṃvanṃyāntamanuyātomahādyutiḥ | ahamapyanuyāsyāmitathaivainṃyamakṣyam ||6.49.17||

Translation

महाद्युतिः glowing in brightness, वनम् forest, यान्तम् travelling, माम् me, यथैव with me, अनुयातः followed, तथैव in the same way, अहमपि I will also, एनम् in that way, यमक्ष्यम् abode of death, अनुयास्यामि will follow you.

Meaning

"This Lakshmana glowing in brightness, travelled with me following me in the forest. In the same way I shall follow him to the abode of death."

YK-49-18Yuddha Kanda 49.18

इष्टबन्धुजनोनित्यंमांचनित्यमनुव्रतः । इमामद्यगतोऽवस्थांममानार्यस्यदुर्नयैः ।।6.49.18।।

iṣṭabandhujanonityṃmāṃcanityamanuvratḥ | imāmadyagato'vasthāṃmamānāryasyadurnayaiḥ ||6.49.18||

Translation

नित्यम् always, इष्टबन्धुजनः liked by relatives, नित्यम् ever, माम् me, अनुव्रतः following, अनार्यस्य ignoble, मम me, दुर्नयैः devoted, अद्य now, इमाम् such, अवस्थाम् state, गतः reached.

Meaning

"He who was liked by relatives, was following ignoble me ever devoutly has reached this state."

YK-49-19Yuddha Kanda 49.19

सुरुष्टेनापिवीरेणलक्ष्मणेननसंस्मरे । परुषंविप्रियंवापिश्रावितंनकदाचन ।।6.49.19।।

suruṣṭenāpivīreṇalakṣmaṇenanasṃsmare | paruṣṃvipriyṃvāpiśrāvitṃnakadācana ||6.49.19||

Translation

सुरुष्टेनापि even unpalatable, वीरेण heroic, लक्ष्मणेनवापि by Lakshmana, कदाचन indeed, परुषम् harsh, विप्रियम् deeply, श्रावितम् invoked, नसंस्मरे I do not remember.

Meaning

"Indeed, heroic Lakshmana never uttered an unpalatable word. I do not remember him speaking harsh words even when he was deeply provoked."

YK-49-20Yuddha Kanda 49.20

विससर्जैकवेगेनपञ्चबाणशतानियः । इष्वस्त्रष्वधिकस्तस्मात्कार्तवीर्याच्चलक्ष्मणः ।।6.49.20।।

visasarjaikavegenapañcabāṇaśatāniyḥ | iṣvastraṣvadhikastasmātkārtavīryāccalakṣmaṇḥ ||6.49.20||

Translation

यः he who, एकवेगेन in one go, पञ्च five, बाणशतानि fund red arrows, विससर्ज released, तस्मात् therefore, कार्तवीर्यात् च by Kartaveerya, लक्ष्मणः Lakshmana, इष्वस्त्रषु in discharging, अधिकः superior.

Meaning

"He who, in one go released five hundred arrows (with two hand s) is therefore superior to Kartaveerya (with thousand hands) releasing the same arrows."

YK-49-21Yuddha Kanda 49.21

अस्स्रैरस्त्राणियोहन्याच्छक्रस्यापिमहात्मनः । सोऽयमुर्व्यांहतश्शेतेमहार्हशयनोचितः ।।6.49.21।।

assrairastrāṇiyohanyācchakrasyāpimahātmanḥ | so'yamurvyāṃhataśśetemahārhaśayanocitḥ ||6.49.21||

Translation

यः he who, महात्मनः great soul, शक्रस्य Indra's, अस्त्राण्यपि arrows also, अस्त्रः arrows, हन्यात् destroy, महार्हशयनोचितः deserve to be esteemed, सःअयम् such a person, हतः killed, उर्व्याम् on the ground, शेते lying.

Meaning

"He, who could destroy Indra's arrows also deserves to be on Indra's bed, is lying on the ground, killed."

YK-49-22Yuddha Kanda 49.22

तच्चमिथ्याप्रलप्तंमांप्रधक्ष्यतिनसंशयः । यन्मयानकृतोराजाराक्षसानांविभीषणः ।।6.49.22।।

taccamithyāpralaptṃmāṃpradhakṣyatinasṃśayḥ | yanmayānakṛtorājārākṣasānāṃvibhīṣaṇḥ ||6.49.22||

Translation

विभीषणः Vibheeshana, मया by my, यत् those, राक्षसानाम् Rakshasas, नकृतः not done, तत् therefore, मिथ्याप्रलप्तम् untruth utterance, माम् me, प्रधक्ष्यति consume, संशयः doubt, न no.

Meaning

"I have not made Vibheeshana as the king of Rakshasas. Because of that untruth utterance they want to consume me, no doubt."

YK-49-23Yuddha Kanda 49.23

अस्मिन्मुहूर्तेसुग्रीव प्रतियातुमितोऽर्हसि । मत्वाहीनंराजन् रावणोऽभिद्रवेद्बली ।।6.49.23।।

asminmuhūrtesugrīva pratiyātumito'rhasi | matvāhīnṃrājan rāvaṇo'bhidravedbalī ||6.49.23||

Translation

सुग्रीव Sugriva, अस्मिन् his, मुहूर्ते time, इतः from here, प्रतियातुम् return back, अर्हसि I think, राजन् king, रावणः Ravana, मया by me, हीनम् weak, मत्वा chase, बली strong, अब्रवेत् said.

Meaning

"Sugriva! You return back from here now. Strong Ravana will chase you because of my not being here."

YK-49-24Yuddha Kanda 49.24

अङ्गदंतुपुरस्कत्यससैन्यस्सपरिच्छदम् । सागरंतरसुग्रीव नीलेनचनलेनच ।।6.49.24।।

aṅgadṃtupuraskatyasasainyassaparicchadam | sāgarṃtarasugrīva nīlenacanalenaca ||6.49.24||

Translation

सुग्रीव Sugriva, ससैन्यम् with army, सपरिच्छदम् along with all, अङ्गदम् Angada, पुरस्कृत्य keeping in front, नीलेनच even Neela, नलेनच and Nala, समुद्रम् ocean, तर you may cross.

Meaning

"Sugriva! Return back from here along with the army keeping Angada in front, even Neela and Nala. Cross the ocean."

YK-49-25Yuddha Kanda 49.25

कृतंहनुमताकार्यंयदन्यैर्दुष्करंरणे । ऋक्षराजेनतुष्यामिगोलाङ्गूलाधिपेनच ।।6.49.25।।

kṛtṃhanumatākāryṃyadanyairduṣkarṃraṇe | ṛkṣarājenatuṣyāmigolāṅgūlādhipenaca ||6.49.25||

Translation

ऋक्षराजेन king of Bears, गोलाङ्गूलाधिपेन king of Golangulas, Gavaksha, रणे in war, यत् by you, अन्यैः others, दुष्करम् difficult, हनुमता Hanumantha, कार्यं in action, कृतंहि has done, तुष्यामि pleased.

Meaning

"O King of Bears! King of Golangulas! Difficult action has been done by you and others in war. I am pleased with Hanumantha's action."

YK-49-26Yuddha Kanda 49.26

अङ्गदेनकृतंकर्ममैन्देनद्विविदेनच । युद्धंकेसरिणासङ् ख्येघोरंसम्पातिनाकृतम् ।।6.49.26।।

aṅgadenakṛtṃkarmamaindenadvividenaca | yuddhṃkesariṇāsaṅ khyeghorṃsampātinākṛtam ||6.49.26||

Translation

अङ्गदेन by Angada, मैन्देन Mainda, द्विविदेनच by Dwivida, कर्म action, कृतम् done, सङ् ख्ये Vanaras केसरिणा Kesari, सम्पातिना Sampathi, घोरम् formidable, युद्धम् war, कृतम् was done.

Meaning

"Formidable war was done by Angada, Mainda, Dwivida, and by all the Vanaras, Kesari and Sampathi."

YK-49-27Yuddha Kanda 49.27

गवयेनगवाक्षेणशरभेणगजेनच । अन्यैश्चहरिभिर्युद्धंमदर्थेत्यक्तजीवितैः ।।6.49.27।।

gavayenagavākṣeṇaśarabheṇagajenaca | anyaiścaharibhiryuddhṃmadarthetyaktajīvitaiḥ ||6.49.27||

Translation

गवयेन Gava, गवाक्षेण by Gavaksha, शरभेण By Sarabha, गजेन Gaja, मदर्थे and others, त्यक्तजीवितैः sacrificing their lives, अन्यैः others, हरिभिश्च even Vanaras, युद्धम् in war.

Meaning

"Gava, Gavaksha, Sarabha and others even Vanaras have done war sacrificing their lives for me."

YK-49-28Yuddha Kanda 49.28

नचातिक्रमितुंशक्यंदैवंसुग्रीव मानुषैः । यत्तुशक्यंवयस्येनसुहृदाचपरन्तप ।।6.49.28।। कृतंसुग्रीव तत्सर्वंभवताधर्मभीरुणा ।

nacātikramituṃśakyṃdaivṃsugrīva mānuṣaiḥ | yattuśakyṃvayasyenasuhṛdācaparantapa ||6.49.28|| kṛtṃsugrīva tatsarvṃbhavatādharmabhīruṇā |

Translation

सुग्रीव Sugriva, मानुषैः in human beings, दैवम् god, अतिक्रमितुम् to overcome, नचशक्यम् not possible, परन्तप scorcher of enemies, सुग्रीव Sugriva, सुहृदा best friend, वयस्येन by you, यत्तु that which, शक्यम् not possible, तत् that, सर्वम् all, धर्मभीरुणा righteously, त्वया by you, कृतम् was done.

Meaning

"Sugriva! It is not possible for human beings to overcome God (destiny). O scorcher of enemies! Sugriva, my best friend, you have all done righteously that which is not possible."

YK-49-29Yuddha Kanda 49.29

मित्रकार्यंकृतमिदंभवद्भिर्वानरर्षभाः ।।6.49.29।। अनुज्ञातामयासर्वेयथेष्टंगन्तुमर्हथ ।

mitrakāryṃkṛtamidṃbhavadbhirvānararṣabhāḥ ||6.49.29|| anujñātāmayāsarveyatheṣṭṃgantumarhatha |

Translation

वानरर्षभाः bulls among Vanaras, भवद्भि: by me permitted, इदम् this, मित्रकार्यम् friend's work, कृतम् done, सर्वे all, मया by me, अनुज्ञाताः you should go, यथेष्टम् where you wish to, गन्तुम् you may go, अर्हथ I permit.

Meaning

"O Bulls among Vanaras! All of you should go permitted by me. You have done friend's work. You may go where you wish to go. I permit said Rama."

YK-49-30Yuddha Kanda 49.30

शुश्रुवुस्तस्यतेसर्वेवानराःपरिदेवनम् ।।6.49.30।। वर्तयाञ्चक्रूरश्रूणिनेत्रैःकृष्णेतरेक्षणाः ।

śuśruvustasyatesarvevānarāḥparidevanam ||6.49.30|| vartayāñcakrūraśrūṇinetraiḥkṛṣṇetarekṣaṇāḥ |

Translation

सर्वे all, ये you, वानराः, Vanaras तस्य their, परिदेवतम् lamentation, शुश्रुवुः tears, कृष्णेतरेक्षणाः tawny eyes, नेत्रैः eyes, अश्रूणि tears, वर्तयाञ्चक्रु: started shedding.

Meaning

All the Vanaras started shedding tears from their tawny eyes on listening to the lamentation of Rama.

YK-49-31Yuddha Kanda 49.31

ततस्सर्वाण्यनीकानिस्थापयित्वाविभीषणः ।।6.49.31।। आजगामगदापाणिस्त्वरितंयत्रराघवः ।

tatassarvāṇyanīkānisthāpayitvāvibhīṣaṇḥ ||6.49.31|| ājagāmagadāpāṇistvaritṃyatrarāghavḥ |

Translation

Translation

त्वरितम् quickly, यान्तम् all, नीलाञ्जनचयोपमम् like a dark mountain, तम् him, दृष्टवा seeing, सर्व all, वानराः Vanaras, रावणिम् Ravana's son, मन्यमानाः thinking, दुद्रुवुः ran away.

Meaning

Seeing Vibheeshana resembling a dark mountain, thinking him to be Indrajith, all the Vanaras ran from there. ।। इत्यार्षेवाल्मीकीयेश्रीमद्रामायणेआदिकाव्येयुद्धकाण्डेएकोनपञ्चाशस्सर्गः ।। This is the end of the forty ninth sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
