KK-43-1Kishkindha Kanda 43.1

ततस्सन्दिश्य सुग्रीवश्श्वशुरं पश्चिमां दिशम्। वीरं शतवलिं नाम वानरं वानरर्षभः।।4.43.1।।

tatassandiśya sugrīvaśśvaśurṃ paścimāṃ diśam| vīrṃ śatavaliṃ nāma vānarṃ vānararṣabhḥ||4.43.1||

Translation

वानरर्षभः bull among monkeys, सुग्रीवः Sugriva, श्वशुरम् to fatherinlaw, पश्चिमां दिशम् western side, सन्दिश्य having assigned, ततः then, नाम called, वीरम् troop leader, वानरम् of monkeys, शतवलिं Satavali.

Meaning

Sugriva, the bull among monkeys, having sent his fatherinlaw in the western direction, said to Satavali, troop leader of the monkeys:

KK-43-2Kishkindha Kanda 43.2

उवाच राजा धर्मज्ञस्सर्ववानरसत्तमम्। वाक्यमात्म हितं चैव रामस्य च हितं तथा।।4.43.2।।

uvāca rājā dharmajñassarvavānarasattamam| vākyamātma hitṃ caiva rāmasya ca hitṃ tathā||4.43.2||

Translation

राजा king, धर्मज्ञः knower of dharma, सर्ववानरसत्तमः foremost among all the monkeys, तथा in that way, आत्महितं च एव for his own welfare, रामस्य च and Rama's also, हितम् good, वाक्यम् these words, उवाच spoke.

Meaning

'Righteous king Sugriva said to the foremost among the monkeys, Satavali what would help his cause as well as the cause of Rama:

KK-43-3Kishkindha Kanda 43.3

वृतश्शतसहस्रेण त्वद्विधानां वनौकसाम्। वैवस्वतसुतैस्सार्धं प्रतिष्ठस्व स्वमन्त्रिभिः।।4.43.3।।

vṛtaśśatasahasreṇa tvadvidhānāṃ vanaukasām| vaivasvatasutaissārdhṃ pratiṣṭhasva svamantribhiḥ||4.43.3||

Translation

त्वद्विधानाम् like you, वनौकसाम् the foresters, शतसहस्रेण a hundred thousand, वृतः take, स्वमन्त्रिभिः with ministers also, वैवस्वतसुतैस्सार्धम् along with the sons of the Sungod, प्रतिष्ठस्व get going.

Meaning

'Take like you a hundred thousand courageous heroes, your ministers and the sons of Vaivasvata. And begin your expedition.

KK-43-4Kishkindha Kanda 43.4

दिशं ह्युदीचीं विक्रान्तां हिमशैलावतंसकाम्। सर्वतः परिमार्गध्वं रामपत्नीमनिन्दिताम्।।4.43.4।।

diśṃ hyudīcīṃ vikrāntāṃ himaśailāvatṃsakām| sarvatḥ parimārgadhvṃ rāmapatnīmaninditām||4.43.4||

Translation

विक्रान्तां mighty, हिमशैलावतंसकाम् having Himavan as its earring, उदीचीं दिशम् in the northern direction, अनिन्दिताम् blameless, रामपत्नीम् Rama's spouse, सर्वतः all over, परिमार्गध्वम् search for.

Meaning

'Look all over the northern direction adorned with mighty Himavan as its earring, for the spouse of blameless Rama

KK-43-5Kishkindha Kanda 43.5

अस्मिन्कार्येविनिर्वृत्ते कृते दाशरथेः प्रिये। ऋणान्मुक्ता भविष्यामः कृतार्थार्थविदां वराः।।4.43.5।।

asminkāryevinirvṛtte kṛte dāśaratheḥ priye| ṛṇānmuktā bhaviṣyāmḥ kṛtārthārthavidāṃ varāḥ||4.43.5||

Translation

कृतार्थविदां वराः successful in our endeavour, अस्मिन् in this, कार्ये in this work, विनिवृत्ते returned, दाशरथेः Dasarathi's, प्रिये कृते when the task dear to him is done, ऋणान् from the debt, मुक्ताः redeemed, कृतार्थाः sucessful, भविष्यामः we will be.

Meaning

'We should be succeessful in our endeavour when we have completed the task dear to Rama. We will be redeemed of our debt to him.

KK-43-6Kishkindha Kanda 43.6

कृतं हि प्रियमस्माकं राघवेण महात्मना। तस्य चेत्प्रतिकारोऽस्ति सफलं जीवितं भवेत्।।4.43.6।।

kṛtṃ hi priyamasmākṃ rāghaveṇa mahātmanā| tasya cetpratikāro'sti saphalṃ jīvitṃ bhavet||4.43.6||

Translation

महात्मना highsouled, राघवेण by Rama, अस्माकम् for us, प्रियम् dear, कृतं हि is done, तस्य for that, प्रतिकारः a help in return, अस्ति चेत् if there is anything, जीवितम् life, सफलम् sucessful, भवेत् will be(blessed).

Meaning

'Highsouled Rama has done a great service to us earlier. We will be blessed if we are successful in helping Rama in return.

KK-43-7Kishkindha Kanda 43.7

अर्थिनः कार्यनिर्वृत्तिमकर्तुरपि यश्चरेत्। तस्य स्यात्सफलं जन्म किं पुनः पूर्वकारिणः।।4.43.7।।

arthinḥ kāryanirvṛttimakarturapi yaścaret| tasya syātsaphalṃ janma kiṃ punḥ pūrvakāriṇḥ||4.43.7||

Translation

यः whoever, अकर्तुरपि who has not helped, अर्थिनः by a needy man, कार्यनिर्वृत्तिम् fulfilling the task, चरेत् if one takes up, तस्य his, जन्म life, सफलं स्यात् will be fruitful, पूर्वकारिणः one who has helped earlier, किं पुनः what to say.

Meaning

'Our life becomes fruitful when we help a person who was not helped us. What to speak of returning the help one has rendered.

KK-43-8Kishkindha Kanda 43.8

एतां बुद्धिमवस्थाय दृश्यते जानकी यथा। तथा भवद्भिः कर्तव्यमस्मत्प्रियहितैषिभिः।।4.43.8।।

etāṃ buddhimavasthāya dṛśyate jānakī yathā| tathā bhavadbhiḥ kartavyamasmatpriyahitaiṣibhiḥ||4.43.8||

Translation

एताम् such, बुद्धिम् mind, अवस्थाय after taking such a stand, अस्मत्प्रियहितैषिभिः by our well wishers, भवद्भिः by you, जानकी Janaki, यथा in such a way, दृश्यते is seen, तथा like that, कर्तव्यम् should be done.

Meaning

'Keeping this in mind, you, as my wellwishers, should act in a way Janaki can be traced.

KK-43-9Kishkindha Kanda 43.9

अयं हि सर्वभूतानां मान्यस्तु नरसत्तमः। अस्मासु चागत: प्रीती रामः परपुरञ्जयः।।4.43.9।।

ayṃ hi sarvabhūtānāṃ mānyastu narasattamḥ| asmāsu cāgata: prītī rāmḥ parapurañjayḥ||4.43.9||

Translation

अयम् this, नरसत्तमः king, परपुरञ्जयः who can conquer the capitals of enemies, रामः Rama, सर्वभूतानाम् for all beings, मान्यः revered, अस्मासु at us also, प्रीतिं गतः he loves.

Meaning

'This Rama who can conquer the capitals of enemies is great. He loves and is loved by all living beings including ourselves.

KK-43-10Kishkindha Kanda 43.10

इमानि वनदुर्गाणि नद्यश्शैलान्तराणि च। भवन्तः परिमार्गन्तु बुद्धिविक्रमसम्पदा।।4.43.10।।

imāni vanadurgāṇi nadyaśśailāntarāṇi ca| bhavantḥ parimārgantu buddhivikramasampadā||4.43.10||

Translation

भवन्तः by your, बुद्धिविक्रमसम्पदा rich wisdom and valour, इमानि these, वनदुर्गाणि inacessible forests, नद्यः rivers, शैलान्तराणि च mountain ranges,परिमार्गन्तु search.

Meaning

'You are rich in wisdom and valour. You should search for Sita everywhere including inaccessible forests and mountain ranges.

KK-43-11-13Kishkindha Kanda 43.11–13 (त्रिकम्)

तत्र म्लेच्छान्पुलिन्दांश्च शूरसेनांस्तथैव च। प्रस्थलान्भरतांश्चैव कुरूंश्च सह मद्रकैः।।4.43.11।। काम्बोजान्यवनां श्चैव शकानारट्टकानपि। बाह्लीकानृषिकां श्चैव पौरवानथ टङ्कणान्।।4.43.12।। चीनान्परमचीनांश्च नीहारांश्च पुनः पुनः। अन्विष्यदरदांश्चैव हिमवन्तं तथैव च।।4.43.13।।

tatra mlecchānpulindāṃśca śūrasenāṃstathaiva ca| prasthalānbharatāṃścaiva kurūṃśca saha madrakaiḥ||4.43.11|| kāmbojānyavanāṃ ścaiva śakānāraṭṭakānapi| bāhlīkānṛṣikāṃ ścaiva pauravānatha ṭaṅkaṇān||4.43.12|| cīnānparamacīnāṃśca nīhārāṃśca punḥ punḥ| anviṣyadaradāṃścaiva himavantṃ tathaiva ca||4.43.13||

Translation

तत्र there, म्लेच्छान् Mlechhas, पुलिन्दांश्च Pulindas, तथैव च so also, शूरसेनान् Surasenas, प्रस्थलान् Prasthalas, भरतांश्चैव Bharatas, मद्रकै सह along with Madrakas, कुरूंश्च and also Kurus, काम्बोजान्यवनांश्चैव Kambojas and Yavanas, शकान् Shakas, आरट्टकानपि च Arattakas, बाह्लीकान् Bahlikas, ऋषिकांश्चैव Rishikas, पौरवान् Pauravas, अथ and then, टङ्कणान् Tankanas, चीनान् Cheenas, परमचीनांश्च in Paramacheena, नीहारांश्च Niharas, दरदांश्चैव Daradas also, पुनःपुनः again and again, अन्विष्य searching, हिमवन्तम् Himavanta, विचिन्वथ search.

Meaning

'Search in the countries of Mlechas, Pulindas, Surasenas, Prasthalas, Bharatas, Madrakas, Kurus, Kambojas and even Yavanas, Shakas, Rattakas, Bahlikas, Rishikas, Pauravas, Tankanas, Cheenas, Paramacheenas, Niharas, Daradas and in the Himalaya mountains again and again in order to find her.

KK-43-14Kishkindha Kanda 43.14

लोध्रपद्मकषण्डेषु देवदारुवनेषु च। रावणस्सह वैदेह्या मार्गितव्यस्ततस्ततः।।4.43.14।।

lodhrapadmakaṣaṇḍeṣu devadāruvaneṣu ca| rāvaṇassaha vaidehyā mārgitavyastatastatḥ||4.43.14||

Translation

लोध्रपद्मकषण्डेषु in the thickets of Lodhra and lotuses, देवदारुवनेषु च and in the woods of Devadaru, रावणः Ravana, ततस्ततः everywhere, वैदेह्या सह Vaidehi, मार्गितव्यः explore.

Meaning

'There you should explore the dwelling of Ravana and Vaidehi, in the thickets of lodhra and lotuses and in the woods of devadaru.

KK-43-15Kishkindha Kanda 43.15

ततस्सोमाश्रमं गत्वा देवगन्धर्वसेवितम्। कालं नाम महासानुं पर्वतं तु गमिष्यथ।।4.43.15।।

tatassomāśramṃ gatvā devagandharvasevitam| kālṃ nāma mahāsānuṃ parvatṃ tu gamiṣyatha||4.43.15||

Translation

ततः then, देवगन्धर्वसेवितम् inhabited by gods and gandharvas, सोमाश्रमम् hermitage of Soma, गत्वा after visiting, महासानुम् great slopes, कालं नाम named Kala, पर्वतं तु the mountain also, गमिष्यथ go and explore.

Meaning

'Then go and explore the hermitage of Soma inhabited by gods and gandharvas and also the great summits of mount Kala.

KK-43-16Kishkindha Kanda 43.16

महत्सु तस्य शैलस्य निर्दरेषु गुहासु च। विचिनुध्वं महाभागां रामपत्नींततस्ततः।।4.43.16।।

mahatsu tasya śailasya nirdareṣu guhāsu ca| vicinudhvṃ mahābhāgāṃ rāmapatnīṃtatastatḥ||4.43.16||

Translation

तस्य that mountain's, महत्सु mighty one's, शैलस्य mountain's, निर्दरेषु in caverns, गुहासु च in caves as well, महाभागाम् great lady, ततस्ततः everywhere, रामपत्नीम् Rama's wife, विचिनुध्वं search for.

Meaning

'Look for that great lady, Rama's consort, in the big caves and caverns all over the mountain.

KK-43-17Kishkindha Kanda 43.17

तमतिक्रम्य शैलेन्द्रं हेमगर्भं महागिरिम्। ततस्सुदर्शनं नाम गन्तुमर्हथ पर्वतम्।।4.43.17।।

tamatikramya śailendrṃ hemagarbhṃ mahāgirim| tatassudarśanṃ nāma gantumarhatha parvatam||4.43.17||

Translation

हेमगर्भम् filled with gold, शैलेन्द्रम् lord of mountain, तम् that, महागिरिम् great mountain, अतिक्रम्य after passing , ततः then, सुदर्शनं नाम called Sudarsana, पर्वतम् mountain, गन्तुम् to go, अर्हथ it is proper for you.

Meaning

'Crossing this lord of hills filled with gold, you should reach the great mountain called Sudarsana.

KK-43-18Kishkindha Kanda 43.18

ततो देवसखो नाम पर्वतः पतगालयः। नानापक्षिगणाकीर्णो विविधद्रुमभूषितः।।4.43.18।।

tato devasakho nāma parvatḥ patagālayḥ| nānāpakṣigaṇākīrṇo vividhadrumabhūṣitḥ||4.43.18||

Translation

ततः from there, पतगालयः nests of birds, नानापक्षिगणाकीर्णः full of different kinds of birds, विविधद्रुमभूषितः adorned with different kinds of trees, देवसखो नाम Devasakha by name, पर्वतः mountain.

Meaning

'Then proceed to mount Devasakha inhabited by a variety of birds adorning the trees.

KK-43-19Kishkindha Kanda 43.19

तस्य काननषण्डेषु निर्घरेषु गुहासु च। रावणस्सह वैदेह्या मार्गितव्यस्ततस्ततः।।4.43.19।।

tasya kānanaṣaṇḍeṣu nirghareṣu guhāsu ca| rāvaṇassaha vaidehyā mārgitavyastatastatḥ||4.43.19||

Translation

तस्य its, काननषण्डेषु in the thickets, निर्घरेषु near mountain streams, गुहासु च in caves, रावणः Ravana, वैदेह्यासह and Vaidehi, ततस्ततः everywhere, मार्गितव्यः should be searched.

Meaning

'You should search for Ravana as well as Vaidehi everywhere in the thickets of that hill, near the mountain streams and also in caves.

KK-43-20Kishkindha Kanda 43.20

तमतिक्रम्य चाकाशं सर्वतश्शतयोजनम्। अपर्वतनदीवृक्षं सर्वसत्त्वविवर्जितम्।।4.43.20।।

tamatikramya cākāśṃ sarvataśśatayojanam| aparvatanadīvṛkṣṃ sarvasattvavivarjitam||4.43.20||

Translation

तम् those, अतिक्रम्य after passing, अपर्वतनदीवृक्षम् a location without mountains, rivers and trees, सर्वसत्त्ववर्जितम् a desolate place without trace of life, सर्वतः all over, शतयोजनम् hundred yojanas, आकाशम् vacant space.

Meaning

'Beyond, there is a desolate place of hundred yojanas with no trace of life, no mountains, no trees, no rivers.

KK-43-21Kishkindha Kanda 43.21

तं तु शीघ्रमतिक्रम्य कान्तारं रोमहर्षणम्। कैलासं पाण्डुरं शैलं प्राप्य हृष्टा भविष्यथ।।4.43.21।।

tṃ tu śīghramatikramya kāntārṃ romaharṣaṇam| kailāsṃ pāṇḍurṃ śailṃ prāpya hṛṣṭā bhaviṣyatha||4.43.21||

Translation

कान्तारम् fearsome, रोमहर्षणम् horripilating, तम् that, शीघ्रम् quickly, अतिक्रम्य after crossing, पाण्डुरम् pale white, कैलासम् Kailasa, प्राप्य on reaching, शैलम् mountain, हृष्टाः happy, भविष्यथ you will be.

Meaning

'Crossing that horripilating, desolate place quickly, you will be happy to reach the snowy Kailasa mountain.

KK-43-22Kishkindha Kanda 43.22

तत्र पाण्डुरमेघाभं जाम्बूनदपरिष्कृतम्। कुबेरभवनं रम्यं निर्मितं विश्वकर्मणा।।4.43.22।।

tatra pāṇḍurameghābhṃ jāmbūnadapariṣkṛtam| kuberabhavanṃ ramyṃ nirmitṃ viśvakarmaṇā||4.43.22||

Translation

तत्र there, विश्वकर्मणा by Visvakarma, निर्मितम् built, पाण्डुरमेघाभम् like pale white cloud, जाम्बूनदपरिष्कृतम् embellished with gold, रम्यम् exquisite, कुबेरभवनम् mansion of Kubera.

Meaning

'There is an exquisite mansion of Kubera built by Visvakarma which, embellished with gold, looks like a pale white cloud.

KK-43-23Kishkindha Kanda 43.23

विशाला नलिनी यत्र प्रभूतकमलोत्पला। हंसकारण्डवाकीर्णाप्सरोगणसेविता।।4.43.23।।

viśālā nalinī yatra prabhūtakamalotpalā| hṃsakāraṇḍavākīrṇāpsarogaṇasevitā||4.43.23||

Translation

यत्र where, प्रभूतकमलोत्पला with many lotuses and lilies, हंसकारण्डवाकीर्णा inhabited by swans and ducks, अप्सरोगणसेविता frequented by groups of apasaras, विशाला large, नलिनी lotus pond.

Meaning

'There is a large lotus pond with many lotuses and lilies, inhabited by swans and ducks and frequented by groups of apasaras.

KK-43-24Kishkindha Kanda 43.24

तत्र वैश्रवणो राजा सर्वभूतनमस्कृतः। धनदो रमते श्रीमान्गुह्यकैस्सह यक्षराट्।।4.43.24।।

tatra vaiśravaṇo rājā sarvabhūtanamaskṛtḥ| dhanado ramate śrīmānguhyakaissaha yakṣarāṭ||4.43.24||

Translation

तत्र there, वैश्रवणः Vaisravana, राजा king, सर्वभूतनमस्कृतः worshipped by all beings, यक्षराट् Yaksha king, श्रीमान् prosperous, धनदः Kubera, गुह्यकैः सह along with Guhyakas, रमते enjoying.

Meaning

'Kubera, son of Vaisravana, a prosperous king of the yakshas (demigods) worshipped by all beings dwells there with Guhyakas.

KK-43-25Kishkindha Kanda 43.25

तस्य चन्द्रनिकाशेषु पर्वतेषु गुहासु च। रावणः सह वैदेह्या मार्गितव्यस्ततस्ततः।।4.43.25।।

tasya candranikāśeṣu parvateṣu guhāsu ca| rāvaṇḥ saha vaidehyā mārgitavyastatastatḥ||4.43.25||

Translation

तस्य its, चन्द्रनिकाशेषु of the colour of the Moon, पर्वतेषु in mountains, गुहासु च and caves, ततस्ततः here and there, वैदेह्या सह with Vaidehi, रावणः Ravana, मार्गितव्यः you may look for.

Meaning

'Look for Vaidehi and Ravana all over the caves and mountains of Kilasa of the colour of the moon.

KK-43-26Kishkindha Kanda 43.26

क्रौञ्चं तु गिरिमासाद्य बिलं तस्य सुदुर्गमम्। अप्रमत्तै: प्रवेष्टव्यं दुष्प्रवेशं हि तत्स्मृतम्।।4.43.26।।

krauñcṃ tu girimāsādya bilṃ tasya sudurgamam| apramattai: praveṣṭavyṃ duṣpraveśṃ hi tatsmṛtam||4.43.26||

Translation

क्रौञ्चं गिरिम् mountain Krauncha, आसाद्य after reaching, सुदुर्गमम् most diffficult place to access, तस्य बिलम् its entrance, अप्रमत्तै:carefully, प्रवेष्टव्यम् you may enter, तत् that, दुष्प्रवेशम् difficult to enter, स्मृतम् हि it is stated.

Meaning

'Therefrom proceed to mount krauncha mountain and enter carefully its cave which is reportedly difficult to access.

KK-43-27Kishkindha Kanda 43.27

वसन्ति हि महात्मानस्तत्र सूर्यसमप्रभाः। देवैरप्यर्चिता स्सम्यग्देवरूपा महर्षयः।।4.43.27।।

vasanti hi mahātmānastatra sūryasamaprabhāḥ| devairapyarcitā ssamyagdevarūpā maharṣayḥ||4.43.27||

Translation

तत्र there (in krauncha caves), सूर्यसमप्रभाः radiant like the Sun, देवैः अपि even by the gods, अर्चिताः worshipped, देवरूपाः form of gods, महात्मानः highsouled, महर्षयः ascetics, सम्यक् properly, वसन्ति हि live there.

Meaning

'Great ascetics live there. Worshipped even by the gods, these highsouled godlike ascetics shine like the very Sun.

KK-43-28Kishkindha Kanda 43.28

क्रौञ्चस्य तु गुहाश्चान्या स्सानूनिशिखराणि च। निर्दराश्च नितम्बाश्च विचेतव्या स्ततस्ततः।।4.43.28।। कौञ्चस्य शिखरं चापि निरीक्ष्य च ततस्ततः।

krauñcasya tu guhāścānyā ssānūniśikharāṇi ca| nirdarāśca nitambāśca vicetavyā statastatḥ||4.43.28|| kauñcasya śikharṃ cāpi nirīkṣya ca tatastatḥ|

Translation

क्रौञ्चस्य Krauncha's, शिखरं चापि peak also, ततस्ततः all over, निरीक्ष्य after observing, क्रौञ्चस्य Krauncha's, अन्याः other, गुहाश्च caves also, सानूनि summits, शिखराणि च peaks, निर्दराश्च and caverns also, नितम्बाश्च ridges, ततस्ततः everywhere, विचेतव्याः search.

Meaning

'Ransack the peaks of Krauncha, its caves, caverns and ridges.

KK-43-29Kishkindha Kanda 43.29

अवृक्षं कामशैलं च मानसं विहगालयम्। न गतिस्तत्र भूतानां देवदानव रक्षसाम्।।4.43.29।।

avṛkṣṃ kāmaśailṃ ca mānasṃ vihagālayam| na gatistatra bhūtānāṃ devadānava rakṣasām||4.43.29||

Translation

अवृक्षम् without trees, विहगालयम् abode of birds, मानसम् Manasa, कामशैलम् mountain Kama, तत्र there, भूतानाम् for all living beings, गतिः access, न not, देवदानव gods, demons, रक्षसां च rakshas, न not.

Meaning

'There is a mountain region known as Kama, and Manasa where there are no trees. It is a bird sanctuary. Not only living beings, even gods, demons and rakshas have no access to that place.

KK-43-30Kishkindha Kanda 43.30

स च सर्वैर्विचेतव्यस्ससानुप्रस्थभूधरः। क्रौञ्चं गिरिमतिक्रम्य मैनाको नाम पर्वतः।।4.43.30।।

sa ca sarvairvicetavyassasānuprasthabhūdharḥ| krauñcṃ girimatikramya maināko nāma parvatḥ||4.43.30||

Translation

ससानुप्रस्थभूधरः the mountain including its plain lands and ridges, सः that mountain, सर्वैः by all of you, विचेतव्यः it has to be searched, क्रौञ्चं गिरिम् Krauncha mountain, अतिक्रम्य after passing, मैनाको नाम called Mainaka, पर्वतः mountain.

Meaning

'Beyond mount Krauncha you will find Mainaka. All of you should search for Sita in the plain lands and the ridges of the mountain.

KK-43-31-32Kishkindha Kanda 43.31–32 (युग्मम्)

मयस्य भवनं यत्र दानवस्य स्वयं कृतम्।।4.43.31।। मैनाकस्तु विचेतव्य स्ससानुप्रस्थकन्दरः। स्त्रीणामश्वमुखीनां तु निकेतास्तत्र तत्र तु।।4.43.32।।

Translation

यत्र there, दानवस्य demon's, मयस्य Maya's, स्वयं कृतम् built personally by him, भवनम् mansion, ससानुप्रस्थकन्दरः with table lands and deep caves, मैनाकः Mainaka, विचेतव्यः you may look, तत्र तत्र here and there, अश्वमुखीनां स्त्रीणाम् of kinnera women with horseface, निकेताः residences.

Meaning

'There on Mainaka a demon, called Maya has built a mansion all by himself. Try to look in the plain lands, ridges and deep caves of Mainaka and in the residences of kinnera women with faces of horses.

KK-43-33Kishkindha Kanda 43.33

तं देशं समतिक्रम्य आश्रमं सिद्धसेवितम्। सिद्धा वैखानसास्तत्र वालखिल्याश्च तापसाः।।4.43.33।।

tṃ deśṃ samatikramya āśramṃ siddhasevitam| siddhā vaikhānasāstatra vālakhilyāśca tāpasāḥ||4.43.33||

Translation

तं देशम् that place, समतिक्रम्य after passing, सिद्धसेवितम् inhabited by siddhas, आश्रमम् hermitage, तत्र there, सिद्धाः siddhas, वैखानसाः vaikhanasas, तापसाः ascetics, वालखिल्याश्च and Valakilyas.

Meaning

'On passing that place, you will come across a hermitage inhabited by siddhas and ascetics, Vaikhanasas and Valakilyas.

KK-43-34Kishkindha Kanda 43.34

वन्द्यास्ते तु तपस्सिद्धास्तपसा वीतकल्मषाः। प्रष्टव्या चापि सीतायाः प्रवृत्तिर्विनयान्वितैः।।4.43.34।।

vandyāste tu tapassiddhāstapasā vītakalmaṣāḥ| praṣṭavyā cāpi sītāyāḥ pravṛttirvinayānvitaiḥ||4.43.34||

Translation

ते they, तपस्सिद्धाः accomplished ascetics, तपसा with penance, वीतकल्मषाः free of sins, वन्द्यान् those revered sires, विनयान्वितैः politely, सीतायाः about Sita, प्रवृत्ति: information, प्रष्टव्या चापि you should ask.

Meaning

'They deserve your reverence since they are accomplished ascetics.They are cleansed of sins by their penance.You should be polite when you ask them for information about Sita.

KK-43-35Kishkindha Kanda 43.35

हेमपुष्करसञ्छन्नं तस्मिन् वैखानसं सरः। तरुणादित्यसङ्काशैर्हंसैर्विचरितं शुभैः।।4.43.35।।

hemapuṣkarasañchannṃ tasmin vaikhānasṃ sarḥ| taruṇādityasaṅkāśairhṃsairvicaritṃ śubhaiḥ||4.43.35||

Translation

तत्र there, हेमपुष्करसञ्छन्नम् covered with golden lotuses, तरुणादित्यसङ्काशैः by those bright like the rising Sun, शुभैः auspicious, हंसैः swans, विचरितम् they move along, वैखानसम् Vykaanasam, सरः lake.

KK-43-36Kishkindha Kanda 43.36

औपवाह्यः कुबेरस्य सार्वभौम इति स्मृतः। गजः पर्येति तं देशं सदा सह करेणुभिः।।4.43.36।।

aupavāhyḥ kuberasya sārvabhauma iti smṛtḥ| gajḥ paryeti tṃ deśṃ sadā saha kareṇubhiḥ||4.43.36||

Translation

सार्वभौमः इति called Sarvabhauma, स्मृतः he is known, कुबेरस्य Kubera's, औपवाह्याः royal mount, गजः elephant, करेणुभिः सह with female elphants, सदा ever, तं देशम् in that place, पर्येति keep roaming.

KK-43-37Kishkindha Kanda 43.37

तत्सरस्समतिक्रम्य नष्टचन्द्रदिवाकरम्। अनक्षत्रगणं व्योम निष्पयोदमनादितम्।।4.43.37।।

tatsarassamatikramya naṣṭacandradivākaram| anakṣatragaṇṃ vyoma niṣpayodamanāditam||4.43.37||

Translation

तत् that, सरः pond, समतिक्रम्य beyond that, नष्टचन्द्रदिवाकरम् Sun and Moon not seen, अनक्षत्रगणम् no stars, निष्पयोदम् no clouds move, अनादितम् no sound heard, व्योम silent.

Meaning

'If you cross that region, you will find no Sun, no Moon, no stars, no cloud, no sound.

KK-43-38Kishkindha Kanda 43.38

गभस्तिभिरिवार्कस्य स तु देशः प्रकाशते। विश्राम्यद्भिस्तपस्सिद्धैर्देवकल्पैः स्वयंप्रभैः।।4.43.38।।

gabhastibhirivārkasya sa tu deśḥ prakāśate| viśrāmyadbhistapassiddhairdevakalpaiḥ svayṃprabhaiḥ||4.43.38||

Translation

देवकल्पैः equal to gods, स्वयंप्रभैः selfeffulgent ones, विश्राम्यद्भिः by the living, तपस्सिद्धैः perfected by austerities, सः देशः that place, अर्कस्य Sun's, गभस्तिभिरिव like the Sun rays, प्रकाशते shines.

Meaning

'That (Sunless) land shines like the radiance of the Sungod with the presence of selfeffulgent ascetics who have attained perfection in penance.

KK-43-39Kishkindha Kanda 43.39

तं तु देशमतिक्रम्य शैलोदा नाम निम्नगा। उभयोस्तीरयोस्तस्याः कीचका नाम वेणवः।।4.43.39।। ते नयन्ति परं तीरं सिद्धान्प्रत्यानयन्ति च।

tṃ tu deśamatikramya śailodā nāma nimnagā| ubhayostīrayostasyāḥ kīcakā nāma veṇavḥ||4.43.39|| te nayanti parṃ tīrṃ siddhānpratyānayanti ca|

Translation

तं तु देशम् that region, अतिक्रम्य on passing, शैलोदानाम called Sailoda, निम्नगा mountainstream, तस्याः its, उभयोः both, तीरयोः on the banks, कीचकाः नाम called Kichakas, वेणवः bamboos, ते you, सिद्धान् ascetics, परं तीरम् to the other bank, नयन्ति going, प्रत्यानयन्ति च and get back.

Meaning

'Passing that region you will reach a mountain stream called Sailoda. On both the banks of the stream are bamboo groves called Kichakas. They waft the siddhas to and from the river. (Kichakas bend forward forming an arch and thus help sages to cross the river.)

KK-43-40-41Kishkindha Kanda 43.40–41 (युग्मम्)

उत्तराः कुरवस्तत्र कृतपुण्यप्रतिश्रयाः।।4.43.40।। ततः काञ्चनपद्माभिः पद्भिनीभिः कृतोदकाः। नीलवैडूर्यपत्राभिर्नद्यस्तत्र सहस्रशः।।4.43.41।। रक्तोत्पलवनैश्चात्र मण्डिताश्च हिरण्मयैः।

uttarāḥ kuravastatra kṛtapuṇyapratiśrayāḥ||4.43.40|| tatḥ kāñcanapadmābhiḥ padbhinībhiḥ kṛtodakāḥ| nīlavaiḍūryapatrābhirnadyastatra sahasraśḥ||4.43.41|| raktotpalavanaiścātra maṇḍitāśca hiraṇmayaiḥ|

Translation

तत्र there, कृतपुण्यप्रतिश्रयाः those who did meritorious deeds, उत्तराः कुरवः UttaraKuru country, ततः there, काञ्चनपद्माभिः beds of golden lotuses, पद्भिनीभिः with lotus groves, कृतोदकाः brimming with water, नीलवैढूर्यपत्राभिः blue and green leaves, नद्यः rivers, सहस्रशः in thousands, अत्र here, हिरण्मयैः with golden ones, रक्तोत्पलवनैः with red lotuses, मण्डिताः are adorned with.

Meaning

'Thereafter you will reach the country of UttaraKuru, a resort for those who have done meritorious deeds.There are lotus ponds with golden lotuses with bluish and greenish leaves.There are thousands of rivers adorned with red and night lotuses of gold.

KK-43-42-43Kishkindha Kanda 43.42–43 (युग्मम्)

तरुणादित्यसङ्काशैर्भान्ति तत्र जलाशयाः।।4.43.42।। महार्हमणिरत्नैश्च काञ्चनप्रभकेसरैः। निलोत्पलवनैश्चित्रै स्स देश स्सर्वतो वृतः।।4.43.43।। निस्तुलाभिश्च मुक्ताभिर्मणिभिश्च महाधनैः।

taruṇādityasaṅkāśairbhānti tatra jalāśayāḥ||4.43.42|| mahārhamaṇiratnaiśca kāñcanaprabhakesaraiḥ| nilotpalavanaiścitrai ssa deśa ssarvato vṛtḥ||4.43.43|| nistulābhiśca muktābhirmaṇibhiśca mahādhanaiḥ|

Translation

तत्र there, जलाशयाः tanks and lakes, तरुणादित्यसङ्काशैः glowing red like the rising Sun, भान्ति adorned with, सः देशः in that place, सर्वतः all over, महार्हमणिरत्नैश्च with excellent leaves of the colour of precious emeralds, काञ्चनप्रभकेसरैः with filaments like golden threads, चित्रैः with wonderful, नीलोत्पलवनैः with clusters of blue lotus groves, निस्तुलाभिः with incomaparable, मुक्ताभिः with pearls, महाधनैः with very valuable, मणिभिश्च with gems also, वृतः covered.

Meaning

'There are tanks and lakes filled with lotuses shining like the rising Sun with lotus leaves having the colour of precious emeralds. The lotus filaments look like golden threads. The entire place is full of blue lotus groves, exquisite pearls and other gems.

KK-43-44Kishkindha Kanda 43.44

उद्भूतपुलिनास्तत्र जातरूपैश्च निम्नगाः। सर्वरत्नमयैश्चित्रैरवगाढा नगोत्तमैः।।4.43.44।। जातरूपमयैश्चापि हुताशनसमप्रभैः।

udbhūtapulināstatra jātarūpaiśca nimnagāḥ| sarvaratnamayaiścitrairavagāḍhā nagottamaiḥ||4.43.44|| jātarūpamayaiścāpi hutāśanasamaprabhaiḥ|

Translation

तत्र there, निम्नगाः rivers, जातरूपैः golden, उद्भूतपुलिनाः sandy banks have appeared, सर्वरत्नमयैः with all kinds of gems, चित्रैः colourful ones, जातरूपमयैः golden, हुताशनसमप्रभैः glowing like fire, नगोत्तमैः best of mountains, अवगाढाः have entered, अपि and.

Meaning

'There the sandy river banks are rich with all kinds of colourful gems resplendent with the brightness of gold. Gold and gems glowing like fire in the best of mountains have entered these rivers.

KK-43-45-46Kishkindha Kanda 43.45–46 (युग्मम्)

नित्यपुष्पफलास्तत्र नगाः पत्त्ररथाकुलाः।।4.43.45।। दिव्यगन्धरसस्पर्शाः सर्वान्कामान् स्रवन्ति च। नानाकाराणि वासांसि फलन्त्यन्ये नगोत्तमाः।।4.43.46।।

nityapuṣpaphalāstatra nagāḥ pattrarathākulāḥ||4.43.45|| divyagandharasasparśāḥ sarvānkāmān sravanti ca| nānākārāṇi vāsāṃsi phalantyanye nagottamāḥ||4.43.46||

Translation

तत्र there, नगाः trees, नित्यपुष्पफलाः always in bloom and laden with fruits, पत्त्ररथाकुलाः filled with birds, दिव्यगन्धरसस्पर्शाः with divine fragrance and feel and touch, सर्वान् all, कामान् desires, स्रवन्ति च emit, अन्ये other, नगोत्तमाः excellent trees, नानाकाराणि of different kinds, वासांसि clothes, फलन्ति provide.

Meaning

'There the trees are filled with flowers and fruits in all seasons. Birds rest on them. By their excellent fragrance, taste and smooth feel the fruits and flowers satisfy the desires of all. Some other excellent trees provide barks of various kinds which are used for cloth.

KK-43-47-48Kishkindha Kanda 43.47–48 (युग्मम्)

मुक्ता वैढूर्यचित्राणि भूषणानि तथैव च। स्त्रीणां चाप्यनुरूपाणि पुरुषाणां तथैव च।।4.43.47।। सर्वर्तुसुख सेव्यानि फलन्त्यन्ये नगोत्तमाः। महार्हाणि विचित्राणि हैमान्यन्ये नगोत्तमाः।।4.43.48।।

muktā vaiḍhūryacitrāṇi bhūṣaṇāni tathaiva ca| strīṇāṃ cāpyanurūpāṇi puruṣāṇāṃ tathaiva ca||4.43.47|| sarvartusukha sevyāni phalantyanye nagottamāḥ| mahārhāṇi vicitrāṇi haimānyanye nagottamāḥ||4.43.48||

Translation

अन्ये others, नगोत्तमाः excellent trees, अपि also, स्त्रीणाम् for women, तथैव च similarly, पुरुषाणाम् for men, अनुरूपाणि suitable ones, मुक्तावैडूर्यचित्राणि studded with wonderful pearls and vaidurya gems, तथैव च and similarly, सर्वर्तुसुखसेव्यानि which give pleasure in all seasons, भूषणानि ornaments, हैमान् golden, अन्ये other, नगोत्तमाः trees, महार्हाणि विचित्राणि wonderful and highly valuable ones, फलन्ति yield.

Meaning

'Some other great trees (of the region) provide ornaments suitable for both men and women studded with precious pearls and vaidurya which give pleasure in all seasons. Other trees put forth beautiful and highly valuable ornaments.

KK-43-49Kishkindha Kanda 43.49

शयनानि प्रसूयन्ते चित्रास्तरणवन्ति च। मनःकान्तानि माल्यानि फलन्त्यत्रापरे द्रुमाः।।4.43.49।।

śayanāni prasūyante citrāstaraṇavanti ca| manḥkāntāni mālyāni phalantyatrāpare drumāḥ||4.43.49||

Translation

अत्र here, अपरे others, द्रुमाः trees, चित्रास्तरणवन्ति bed spreads of different colours, शयनानि beds, प्रसूयन्ते yield, मनःकान्तानि those that are pleasing to the heart, माल्यानि garlands, फलन्ति yield.

Meaning

'The trees of that region deliver beds with colourful spreads. Some trees yield garlands of flowers pleasing to the heart.

KK-43-50Kishkindha Kanda 43.50

पानानि च महार्हाणि भक्ष्याणि विविधानि च। स्त्रियश्च गुणसम्पन्ना रूपयौवनलक्षिताः।।4.43.50।।

pānāni ca mahārhāṇi bhakṣyāṇi vividhāni ca| striyaśca guṇasampannā rūpayauvanalakṣitāḥ||4.43.50||

Translation

महार्हाणि good, पानानि drinks, विविधानि many kinds, भक्ष्याणि च and eatables, गुणसम्पन्नाः virtuous, रूपयौवनलक्षिताः marked by beauty and youth, स्त्रियश्च women also.

Meaning

'Some trees bring forth many good quality drinks, eatables and also virtuous women, young and beautiful.

KK-43-51Kishkindha Kanda 43.51

गन्धर्वाः किन्नरास्सिद्धा नागा विद्याधरास्तथा। रमन्ते सततं स्तत्र नारीभिर्भास्करप्रभाः।।4.43.51।।

gandharvāḥ kinnarāssiddhā nāgā vidyādharāstathā| ramante satatṃ statra nārībhirbhāskaraprabhāḥ||4.43.51||

Translation

भास्करप्रभाः radiant like Sun, गन्धर्वाः gandharvas, किंनराः kinneras, सिद्धाः siddhas, नागाः nagas, तथा similarly, विद्याधराः vidyadharas, तत्र there, सततं always, नारीभिः with women, रमन्ते are sporting.

Meaning

There gandharvas, kinneras, siddhas, nagas and vidyadharas, radiant like the Sun, are seen sporting with their female companions.

KK-43-52Kishkindha Kanda 43.52

सर्वे सुकृतकर्माण स्सर्वे रतिपरायणाः। सर्वे कामार्थसहिता वसन्ति सहयोषितः।।4.43.52।।

sarve sukṛtakarmāṇa ssarve ratiparāyaṇāḥ| sarve kāmārthasahitā vasanti sahayoṣitḥ||4.43.52||

Translation

सर्वे all,सुकृतकर्माणः of meritorious deeds , सर्वे all, रतिपरायणाः intent on sensual pleasures, सर्वे all, कामार्थसहिताः for fulfilment of kama and artha, सहयोषितः along with their female companions, वसन्ति live.

Meaning

'By virtue of their meritorious deeds (done in the previous birth) they live a luxurious life of riches and sensual pleasures with their female partners.

KK-43-53Kishkindha Kanda 43.53

गीतवादित्रनिर्घोष स्सोत्कृष्टहसितस्वनः। श्रूयते सततं तत्र सर्वभूतमनोहरः।।4.43.53।।

gītavāditranirghoṣa ssotkṛṣṭahasitasvanḥ| śrūyate satatṃ tatra sarvabhūtamanoharḥ||4.43.53||

Translation

सोत्कृष्टहसितस्वनः sounds of laughter of celestial beings, सर्वभूतमनोहरः pleasing to all beings, गीतवादित्रनिर्घोषः sounds of vocal and instrumental music, तत्र there, सततम् continually, श्रूयते heard.

Meaning

'Pleasing sounds of heavenly musicvocal and instrumental and laughter of celestial beings are ever heard in that region.

KK-43-54Kishkindha Kanda 43.54

तत्र नामुदितः कश्चिन्नास्ति कश्चिदसत्प्रियः। अहन्यहनि वर्धन्ते गुणास्तत्र मनोरमाः।।4.43.54।।

tatra nāmuditḥ kaścinnāsti kaścidasatpriyḥ| ahanyahani vardhante guṇāstatra manoramāḥ||4.43.54||

Translation

तत्र there, अमुदितः unhappy, कश्चिन् any one, न not, असत्प्रियः who likes bad deeds, कश्चित् any one, न not, नास्ति not there, अहन्यहनि day by day, मनोरमाः delightful, गुणाः virtues, वर्धन्ते increase.

Meaning

'There nobody is unhappy or inclined towards evil deeds and virtues in people go increasing day by day.

KK-43-55Kishkindha Kanda 43.55

समतिक्रम्य तं देशमुत्तरः पयसां निधिः। तत्र सोमगिरिर्नाम मध्ये हेममयो महान्।।4.43.55।।

samatikramya tṃ deśamuttarḥ payasāṃ nidhiḥ| tatra somagirirnāma madhye hemamayo mahān||4.43.55||

Translation

तं देशम् in that place, अतिक्रम्य after crossing that place, उत्तरः northern, पयसां निधिः sea, तत्र there, मध्ये in the midst, हेममयः golden, महान् great, सोमगिरिर्नाम Somagiri,

Meaning

'Cross it and, you will reach the northern sea. In its midst is the great golden mountain, Somagiri.

KK-43-56Kishkindha Kanda 43.56

इन्द्रलोकगता ये च ब्रह्मलोकगताश्च ये। देवास्तं समवेक्षन्ते गिरिराजं दिवं गताः।।4.43.56।।

indralokagatā ye ca brahmalokagatāśca ye| devāstṃ samavekṣante girirājṃ divṃ gatāḥ||4.43.56||

Translation

ये those, इन्द्रलोकगताः gone to the world of Indra, ये those, ब्रह्मलोकगताश्च gone to Brahma's world, देवाः deities, दिवम् heaven, गताः gone, तम् that, गिरिराजम् king of mountains, समवेक्षन्ते can view.

Meaning

'Only those who have reached the world of Indra and Brahma in heaven can see that king of mountains.

KK-43-57Kishkindha Kanda 43.57

स तु देशो विसूर्योऽपि तस्य भासा प्रकाशते। सूर्यलक्ष्म्याऽभिविज्ञेयस्तपतेव विवस्वता।।4.43.57।।

sa tu deśo visūryo'pi tasya bhāsā prakāśate| sūryalakṣmyā'bhivijñeyastapateva vivasvatā||4.43.57||

Translation

सः देशः that place, विसूर्योऽपि though without Sun, सूर्यलक्ष्मयभिऽविज्ञेयः appears as if Sun's radiance, तपता with blazing, विवस्वता इव by the Sun, इव as if, तस्य his, भासा by light, प्रकाशते shines.

Meaning

'That place gets light and heat even though there is no Sun.

KK-43-58Kishkindha Kanda 43.58

भगवानपि विश्वात्मा शम्भुरेकादशात्मकः। ब्रह्मा वसति देवेशो ब्रह्मर्षिपरिवारितः।।4.43.58।।

bhagavānapi viśvātmā śambhurekādaśātmakḥ| brahmā vasati deveśo brahmarṣiparivāritḥ||4.43.58||

Translation

भगवानपि even divine being, विश्वात्मा allpervading Visnu, एकादशात्मकः elevenfold, शम्भुः Sambhu, ब्रह्मर्षिपरिवारितः surrounded by divine seers, Brahmarshis, देवेशः lord of gods, ब्रह्मा Brahma, वसति reside.

Meaning

'Even divine beings, the elevenfold Samhbu, the allpervading Visnu and Lord Brahma surrounded by Brahmarshis (divine seers) reside there.

KK-43-59Kishkindha Kanda 43.59

न कथञ्चन गन्तव्यं कुरूणामुत्तरेण वः। अन्येषामपि भूतानां नातिक्रामति वै गतिः।।4.43.59।।

na kathañcana gantavyṃ kurūṇāmuttareṇa vḥ| anyeṣāmapi bhūtānāṃ nātikrāmati vai gatiḥ||4.43.59||

Translation

कुरूणामुत्तरेण to the north of Kuru, कथञ्चन however, वः for you, न गन्तव्यम् should not go, अन्येषाम् for other, भूतानाम् अपि other living beings also, गतिः movement, नातिक्रामति transgresses.

Meaning

'You should not go beyond the north of Kuru. No living being can trespass it.

KK-43-60Kishkindha Kanda 43.60

स हि सोमगिरिर्नाम देवानामपि दुर्गमः। तमालोक्य ततः क्षिप्रमुपावर्तितुमर्हथ।।4.43.60।।

sa hi somagirirnāma devānāmapi durgamḥ| tamālokya tatḥ kṣipramupāvartitumarhatha||4.43.60||

Translation

सोमगिरिर्नाम Somagiri by name, सः that mountain, देवानामपि even for gods, दुर्गमः inaccessible, तम् them, आलोक्य after seeing, ततः that place, क्षिप्रम् at once, उपावर्तितुम् to return, अर्हथ not proper for you.

Meaning

'It is difficult even for gods to reach Somagiri. You should return immediately after seeing that mountain.

KK-43-61Kishkindha Kanda 43.61

एतावद्वानरैश्शक्यं गन्तुं वानरपुङ्गवाः। अभास्करममर्यादं न जानीमस्ततः परम्।।4.43.61।।

etāvadvānaraiśśakyṃ gantuṃ vānarapuṅgavāḥ| abhāskaramamaryādṃ na jānīmastatḥ param||4.43.61||

Translation

वानरपुङ्गवाः O monkeys, एतावत् until there, वानरैः by monkeys, गन्तुम् to go, शक्यम् possible, अभास्करम् Sunless, अमर्यादं च not visible, ततः परम् beyond that, न जानीमः we do not go.

Meaning

'O monkey leaders it is not possible for monkeys to go beyond. The Sun does not shine beyond that place and it is not visible. We do not know what lies beyond that (Somagiri).

KK-43-62Kishkindha Kanda 43.62

सर्वमेतद्विचेतव्यं यन्मया परिकीर्तितम्। यदन्यदपि नोक्तं च तत्रापि क्रियतां मतिः।।4.43.62।।

sarvametadvicetavyṃ yanmayā parikīrtitam| yadanyadapi noktṃ ca tatrāpi kriyatāṃ matiḥ||4.43.62||

Translation

मया by me, यत् whatever, परिकीर्तिम् is mentioned, एतत् all this, सर्वम् every where, विचेतव्यम् explore, अन्यदपि even other places, यत् whatever, नोक्तम् is told, तत्रापि च there also, मतिः mind, क्रियताम् you may apply.

Meaning

'You should keep in mind the places described. You may also think of other places I might have omitted.

KK-43-63Kishkindha Kanda 43.63

ततः कृतं दाशरथेर्महत्प्रियं महत्तरं चापि ततो मम प्रियम्। कृतं भविष्यत्यनिलानलोपमा विदेहजादर्शनजेन कर्मणा।।4.43.63।।

tatḥ kṛtṃ dāśarathermahatpriyṃ mahattarṃ cāpi tato mama priyam| kṛtṃ bhaviṣyatyanilānalopamā videhajādarśanajena karmaṇā||4.43.63||

Translation

अनिलानलोपमाः comparable to fire, ततः that, विदेहजादर्शनजेन arising out of meeting Vaidehi, कर्मणा by that act, दाशरथेः to Rama, महत् great, प्रियम् pleasure, कृतम् is done, ततः अपि and even great also, मम to me, महत्तरम् greater, प्रियम् pleasure, कृतम् done, भविष्यति you will be.

Meaning

'O heroic monkeys comparable to fire If you are successful in finding Vaidehi you will be carrying out your duty. Rama will be highly pleased by your action. My pleasure will be even greater.

ततः कृतार्थाः सहितास्सबान्धवाः मयाऽर्चितास्सर्वगुणैर्मनोरमैः। चरिष्यथोर्वीं प्रति शान्तशत्रव स्सहप्रिया भूतधराः प्लवङ्गमाः।।4.43.64।।

tatḥ kṛtārthāḥ sahitāssabāndhavāḥ mayā'rcitāssarvaguṇairmanoramaiḥ| cariṣyathorvīṃ prati śāntaśatrava ssahapriyā bhūtadharāḥ plavaṅgamāḥ||4.43.64||

Translation

भूतधराः supporters of all beings, प्लवङ्गमाः monkeys, ततः then, कृतार्थाः accomplish your goal, सहिताः along with, सबान्धवाः your relations, मया by me, मनोरमैः by delightful ones, सर्वगुणैः by all virtues, अर्चिताः honoured, शान्तशत्रवः those who vanquished their enemies, सहप्रियाः with your loved ones, उर्वीम् प्रति towards the earth, चरिष्यथ you will be honoured

Meaning

'O monkeys, when you have accomplished your goal, you will be honoured by me as though you have returned after scoring a victory over the enemy. You will roam this earth with your relatives, rejoicing in the company of your loved ones. इत्यार्षे श्रीमद्रामायणे वाल्मीकीय आदिकाव्ये किष्किन्धाकाण्डे त्रिचत्वारिंशस्सर्गः।। Thus ends of fortythird sarga in Kishkindakanda of the first epic, the Holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
