समीक्ष्य विमलं व्योम गतविद्युद्वलाहकम्। सारसाकुलसङ्घुष्टं रम्यज्योत्स्नानुलेपनम्4.29.1।। समृद्धार्थं च सुग्रीवं मन्दधर्मार्थसङ्ग्रहम्। अत्यर्थमसतां मार्गमेकान्तगतमानसम्4.29.2।। निर्वृत्तकार्यं सिद्धार्थं प्रमदाभिरतं सदा। प्राप्तवन्तमभिप्रेतान्सर्वानेव मनोरथान्4.29.3।। स्वां च पत्नीमभिप्रेतां तारां चापि समीप्सिताम्। विहरन्तमहोरात्रं कृतार्थं विगतज्वरम्4.29.4।। क्रीडन्तमिव देवेशं नन्दनेऽप्सरसां गणैः। मन्त्रिषु न्यस्तकार्यं च मन्त्रिणामनवेक्षकम्4.29.5।। उत्सन्नराज्यसन्देशं कामवृत्तमवस्थितम्। निश्चितार्थोऽर्थतत्त्वज्ञः कालधर्मविशेषवित्4.29.6।। प्रसाद्य वाक्यैर्मधुरैर्हेतुमद्भिर्मनोरमैः। वाक्यविद्वाक्य तत्त्वज्ञं हरीशं मारुतात्मजः4.29.7।। हितं तत्त्वं च पथ्यं च सामधर्मार्थनीतिमत्। प्रणयप्रीतिसंयुक्तं विश्वासकृतनिश्चयम्। हरीश्वरमुपागम्य हनूमान्वाक्यमब्रवीत्4.29.8।।

Translation

विमलं clear, गतविद्युद्वलाहकम् free from clouds and lightning, सारसाकुलसङ्घुष्टम् cackling of herons, रम्यज्योत्स्नानुलेपनम् lovely moonlight, व्योम sky, समृद्धार्थम् rich, मन्दधर्मार्थसङ्ग्रहम् slow in attaining dharma and artha, अत्यर्थम् excessively, असताम् bad persons, मार्गम् path, एकान्तगतमानसम् engaged in fulfilling desires only, निर्वृत्तकार्यम् satisfied with his work, सिद्धार्थम् accomplished, सदा all the time, प्रमदाभिरतम् engrossed in enjoyment of women, अभिप्रेताम् coveted, स्वां पत्नीम् his own wife, सर्वान् एव all, मनोरथान् desires, समीप्सिताम् desired, तारां चापि Tara also, प्राप्तवन्तम् having obtained, अहोरात्रम् day and night, विहरन्तम् strolling, कृतार्थम् accomplished, विगतज्वरम् without worry, नन्दने अप्सरसाम् with Apsaras in Nandana garden, गणैः groups, क्रीडन्तम् sporting, देवेशम् इव like god Indra, मन्त्रिषु to the ministers, न्यस्तकार्यं च entrusting duty, मन्त्रिणाम् of the ministers, अनवेक्षकम् not watchful, उत्सन्नराज्यसन्देशम् without minding the duties of the kingdom, कामवृत्तम् इव as if engrossed in sensual pleasures, (अव) स्थितम् remaining, हरीशम् monkey king, सुग्रीवं च Sugriva, समीक्ष्य seen, निश्चितार्थः knower of responsibilities, अर्थतत्त्वज्ञः knower of principles, कालधर्मविशेषवित् aware of duties to be performed at right time, वाक्यवित् skilful in expression, मधुर: sweet, मारुतात्मजः son of the windgod, हनुमान् Hanuman, वाक्यतत्त्वज्ञम् good at speech, हरीश्वरम् Sugriva, उपागम्य went to, मधुरै: with sweet, हेतुमद्भिः reasonable, मनोरमैः pleasing, वाक्यैः words, प्रसाद्य making happy, हितम् wellmeaning, तत्त्वम् truth, पथ्यम् च helpful, सामधर्मार्थनीतिमत् conciliatory, righteous, just and truthful words, प्रणयप्रीतिसंयुक्तम् full of affection, विश्वासकृतनिश्चयम् having decided to take him into confidence, वाक्यम् words, अब्रवीत् spoke.

Meaning

Hanuman, son of the Windgod, saw the clear sky flooded with lovely moonlight, free from clouds and lightning and cackling of herons. He noticed that because Sugriva had attained abundant wealth and merit, he was not taking care of the kingdom. He was engrossed in sensual pleasures. Having accomplished the desired object, he was engaged in enjoyment of the company of women, his own wives and Tara, whom he coveted. He was strolling (in the pleasant garden) night and day without caring for the kingdom, entrusting it to the ministers whose movements he did not watch. He was sporting with women like Indra sports with apsaras in the Nandana garden.Hanuman, who was conscious of his duties and responsibilities, who was aware of the importance of action in time and who was skilful in speech approached Sugriva, king of the monkeys. Having decided to take him into confidence, Hanuman spoke in a convincing, wellmeaning, sweet, pleasing manner words truthful and helpful, conciliatory and just, full of love and affection:

KK-29-9Kishkindha Kanda 29.9

राज्यं प्राप्तं यशश्चैव कौली श्रीरभिवर्धिता। मित्राणां सङ्ग्रहश्शेषस्तं भवान्कर्तुमर्हति4.29.9।।

rājyṃ prāptṃ yaśaścaiva kaulī śrīrabhivardhitā| mitrāṇāṃ saṅgrahaśśeṣastṃ bhavānkartumarhati4.29.9||

Translation

राज्यम् kingdom, यशश्चैव and fame, प्राप्तम् attained, कौली of the family, श्रीः prosperity, अभिवर्धिता heightened, मित्राणाम् of friends, सङ्ग्रहः earning good will, शेषः remains, तम् that( duty), भवान् by you, कर्तुम् to do, अर्हति is proper

Meaning

'You have attained the kingdom. You have earned fame. The prosperity of your family has gone up. All that remains is to earn the goodwill of friends. Attend to that now.

KK-29-10Kishkindha Kanda 29.10

यो हि मित्रेषु कालज्ञस्सततं साधु वर्तते4.29.10।। तस्य राज्यं च कीर्तिश्च प्रतापश्चाभि वर्धते।

yo hi mitreṣu kālajñassatatṃ sādhu vartate4.29.10|| tasya rājyṃ ca kīrtiśca pratāpaścābhi vardhate|

Translation

यो हि he who, कालज्ञः knows the value of time, सततम् always, मित्रेषु towards friends, साधु well, वर्तते conducts, तस्य his, राज्यं च kingdom and, कीर्तिश्च fame, प्रतापश्च glory, वर्धते will increase.

Meaning

'The kingdom, glory and fame of a king who knows the value of time and conducts himself well towards his allies always grows.

KK-29-11Kishkindha Kanda 29.11

यस्य कोशश्च दण्डश्च मित्राण्यात्मा च भूमिप4.29.11।। समवेतानि सर्वाणि स राज्यं महदश्नुते।

yasya kośaśca daṇḍaśca mitrāṇyātmā ca bhūmipa4.29.11|| samavetāni sarvāṇi sa rājyṃ mahadaśnute|

Translation

भूमिप O king, यस्य he who, कोशश्च treasury, दण्डश्च and sceptre, मित्राणि allies, आत्मा च and his own self, समवेतानि are equally dear सर्वाणि all, सः he, महत् great, राज्यम् kingdom, अश्नुते will get.

Meaning

'He to whom the treasury, sceptre, allies and his own self all these are equally dear, enjoys a large kingdom.

KK-29-12Kishkindha Kanda 29.12

तद्भवान्वृत्तसम्पन्नः स्थितः पथि निरत्यये4.29.12।। मित्रार्थमभिनीतार्थं यथावत्कर्तुमर्हति।

tadbhavānvṛttasampannḥ sthitḥ pathi niratyaye4.29.12|| mitrārthamabhinītārthṃ yathāvatkartumarhati|

Translation

तत् therefore, वृत्तसम्पन्नः endowed with right conduct, भवान् you, निरत्यये devoted, स्थितः conforming to, अभिनीतार्थम् a proper course of action, मित्रार्थम् for the cause of ally यथावत् duly, कर्तुम् doing, अर्हति it is proper.

Meaning

'Endowed with right conduct, you ought to duly answer the cause of your ally conforming to proper course of action.

KK-29-13Kishkindha Kanda 29.13

सन्त्यज्य सर्वकर्माणि मित्रार्थे योऽनुवर्तते4.29.13।। सम्भ्रमाद्धि कृतोत्साहस्सोऽनर्थैर्नावरुध्यते।

santyajya sarvakarmāṇi mitrārthe yo'nuvartate4.29.13|| sambhramāddhi kṛtotsāhasso'narthairnāvarudhyate|

Translation

यः whoever, सर्वकर्माणि all his deeds, सन्त्यज्य by giving up, सम्भ्रमात् with excitement, कृतोत्साहः with enthusiasm, मित्रार्थे for the sake of ally, अनुवर्तते does follow, सः to him, अनर्थैः harms, न अवरुध्यते not obstructed.

Meaning

'Whoever sets aside his personal interest and works for the welfare of his ally with due enthusiasm and excitement will not be harmed.

KK-29-14Kishkindha Kanda 29.14

यस्तु कालव्यतीतेषु मित्रकार्येषु वर्तते4.29.14।। स कृत्वा महतोऽप्यर्थान्न मित्रार्थेन युज्यते।

yastu kālavyatīteṣu mitrakāryeṣu vartate4.29.14|| sa kṛtvā mahato'pyarthānna mitrārthena yujyate|

Translation

यः he who, कालव्यतीतेषु exceedng the time limit, मित्रकार्येषु in his friend's task, वर्तते acts, सः he, महतः great, अर्थान् effort, कृत्वा does, मित्रार्थेन for the cause of friend, न युज्यते not succeed.

Meaning

'He who exceeds the time limit in accomplishing a friend's task, and puts forth great effort later succeeds not.

KK-29-15-16Kishkindha Kanda 29.15–16 (युग्मम्)

यदिदं मित्रकार्यं वीर नोमित्रकार्यमरिन्दम 4.29.15।। क्रियतां राघवस्यैतद्वैदेह्याः परिमार्गणम्। तदिदं वीर कार्यं ते कालातीतमरिन्दम 4.29.16।।

yadidṃ mitrakāryṃ vīra nomitrakāryamarindama 4.29.15|| kriyatāṃ rāghavasyaitadvaidehyāḥ parimārgaṇam| tadidṃ vīra kāryṃ te kālātītamarindama 4.29.16||

Translation

अरिन्दम O subduer of enemies, नः for us, तत् that, इदम् this, वीरकार्यम् heroic deed, मित्रकार्यम् for the sake of friend, वैदेह्यः Vaidehi's, परिमार्गणम् search, राघवस्य Rama's, एतत् this, क्रियताम् may be done, अरिन्दम O crusher of enemies, वीर hero, तत् that, इदम् this, कार्यम् task, ते to you, कालातीतम् already delayed.

Meaning

'O subduer of enemies we should do the brave deed of finding Vaidehi for the sake of your friend. O crusher of enemies this is your duty at present and it is already delayed.

KK-29-17Kishkindha Kanda 29.17

न च कालमतीतं ते निवेदयति कालवित्। त्वरमाणोऽपि सन्प्राज्ञस्तव राजन्वशानुगः4.29.17।।

na ca kālamatītṃ te nivedayati kālavit| tvaramāṇo'pi sanprājñastava rājanvaśānugḥ4.29.17||

Translation

राजन् O king, प्राज्ञः a wise person, कालवित् one who is aware of the importance of timely action, सः he, त्वरमाणोऽपि even if he is in a hurry, तव your, वशानुगः staying( in your kingdom), अतीतम् exceeding, कालम् time, ते to you, न निवेदयति will not report.

Meaning

'O king a wise man (like Rama) who is aware of timely action would not tell you even if it is unduly delayed, even when he is in a hurry to get the work done, since he is staying in your kingdom (since he is dependant on you).

KK-29-18Kishkindha Kanda 29.18

कुलस्य हेतुः स्फीतस्य दीर्घबन्धुश्च राघवः। अप्रमेयप्रभावश्च स्वयं चाप्रतिमो गुणैः4.29.18।।

kulasya hetuḥ sphītasya dīrghabandhuśca rāghavḥ| aprameyaprabhāvaśca svayṃ cāpratimo guṇaiḥ4.29.18||

Translation

राघवः Rama, स्फीतस्य prosperity, कुलस्य of your family, हेतुः responsible, दीर्घबन्धुश्च a long time ally, स्वयम् yourself, अप्रमेयप्रभावश्च a man of immeasurable power, गुणैः in virtues, अप्रतिमः peerless.

Meaning

'Rama is responsible in lending stability to you and to your wellknown family. He will continue to be your ally for a long time. Let it be known that his power is boundless and his virtues peerless.

KK-29-19Kishkindha Kanda 29.19

तस्य त्वं कुरु वै कार्यं पूर्वं तेन कृतं तव। हरीश्वर कपिश्रेष्ठानाज्ञापयितुमर्हसि4.29.19।।

tasya tvṃ kuru vai kāryṃ pūrvṃ tena kṛtṃ tava| harīśvara kapiśreṣṭhānājñāpayitumarhasi4.29.19||

Translation

हरीश्वर O king of monkeys, पूर्वम् earlier, तेन by him, तव to you, कृतम् done, त्वम् you, तस्य his, कार्यम् task, कुरु वै you may do, कपिश्रेष्ठान् आज्ञापयितुम् to order the best of monkeys, अर्हसि it will be proper for you.

Meaning

'O king pray accomplish his object the same way he has accomplished your own. You ought to issue orders to the foremost of the monkeys.

KK-29-20Kishkindha Kanda 29.20

न हि तावद्भवेत्कालो व्यतीतश्चोदनादृते। चोदितस्य हि कार्यस्य भवेत्कालव्यतिक्रमः4.29.20।।

na hi tāvadbhavetkālo vyatītaścodanādṛte| coditasya hi kāryasya bhavetkālavyatikramḥ4.29.20||

Translation

चोदनादृते before prompting, कालः time, व्यतीतः elapsed न तावत् भवेत् cannot be used, चोदितस्य if he directs, कार्यस्य the task, कालव्यतिक्रमः time limit has elapsed, भवेत् will happen.

Meaning

'Time will not be deemed lapsed in vain if the work is sincerely taken up without delay and without pressure from your ally, Rama. If it is undertaken under pressure, it will be considered transgression of time.

KK-29-21Kishkindha Kanda 29.21

अकर्तुरपि कार्यस्य भवान्कर्ता हरीश्वर किं पुनः प्रतिकर्तुस्ते राज्येन च धनेन च4.29.21।।

akarturapi kāryasya bhavānkartā harīśvara kiṃ punḥ pratikartuste rājyena ca dhanena ca4.29.21||

Translation

हरीश्वर O lord of monkeys, कार्यस्य of the task, अकर्तुरपि even if one has not done the task, भवान् you, कर्ता doer, धनेन च wealth and, राज्येन च also kingdom, ते to you, प्रतिकर्तु: who performs the task in return, किं पुनः what to say again?

Meaning

'O lord of monkeys help even a person who has not helped you. As such, do you need to be told that you should help one, with whose help you have earned wealth and kingdom?

KK-29-22Kishkindha Kanda 29.22

शक्तिमानपिविक्रान्तो वानरर्क्षगणेश्वर। कर्तुं दाशरथेः प्रीतिमाज्ञायां किन्न सज्जसे4.29.22।।

śaktimānapivikrānto vānararkṣagaṇeśvara| kartuṃ dāśaratheḥ prītimājñāyāṃ kinna sajjase4.29.22||

Translation

वानरर्क्षगणेश्वर O protector of the monkey force, शक्तिमान् powerful, विक्रान्तः advancing forward, दाशरथेः Dasaratha's Rama, प्रीतिम् pleasure, कर्तुम् to do, अज्ञायाम् in issuing orders, किं न सज्जसे why do you not get ready?

Meaning

'O protector of the monkeys, you are powerful and you are prompt. Why don't you issue orders which will please Rama?

KK-29-23Kishkindha Kanda 29.23

कामं खलु शरैश्शक्तस्सुरासुरमहोरगान्। वशे दाशरथिः कर्तुं त्वत्प्रतिज्ञां हि काङ्क्षते4.29.23।।

kāmṃ khalu śaraiśśaktassurāsuramahoragān| vaśe dāśarathiḥ kartuṃ tvatpratijñāṃ hi kāṅkṣate4.29.23||

Translation

दाशरथिः Rama, शरैः with arrows, सुरासुरमहोरगान् gods or demons and nagas, वशे under control, कर्तुम् to do, कामम् indeed, शक्तः खलु he has the capacity, त्वत् प्रतिज्ञाम् your swearing, हि indeed, काङ्क्षते he is looking for.

Meaning

'Indeed, Rama is fully capable of subduing gods, demons as well as nagas with his arrows. He is looking for your help in view of your promise.

KK-29-24Kishkindha Kanda 29.24

प्राणत्यागाविशङ्केन कृतं तेन तवप्रियम्। तस्य मार्गाम वैदेहीं पृथिव्यामपि चाम्बरे4.29.24।।

prāṇatyāgāviśaṅkena kṛtṃ tena tavapriyam| tasya mārgāma vaidehīṃ pṛthivyāmapi cāmbare4.29.24||

Translation

प्राणत्यागाविशङ्केन risking his life without hesitation, तेन by him, तव your, प्रियम् dear, कृतम् work, तस्य his, वैदेहीम् Vaidehi, पृथिव्याम् on earth, अम्बरेऽपि च or in heaven, मार्गाम let us search.

Meaning

'He has done you a deed dear to you without hesitation, risking his own life.Let us help him in search of his Vaidehi whether she is on earth or in heaven.

KK-29-25Kishkindha Kanda 29.25

देवदानव गन्धर्वा नसुरास्समरुद्गणाः। न च यक्षा भयं तस्य कुर्युः किमुत राक्षसाः4.29.25।।

devadānava gandharvā nasurāssamarudgaṇāḥ| na ca yakṣā bhayṃ tasya kuryuḥ kimuta rākṣasāḥ4.29.25||

Translation

देवदानव गन्धर्वा gods, demons or gandharvas, न मरुद्गणाः or marutas, असुराः deities, यक्षाः च and yakshas, तस्य for him, भयम् fright, न कुर्युः not cause, राक्षसाः demons, किमुत what to say of.

Meaning

'Not gods, demons, gandharvas or even marutas, suras or yakshas can cause fright in him much less the rakshasas.

KK-29-26Kishkindha Kanda 29.26

तदेवं शक्तियुक्तस्य पूर्वं प्रियकृतस्तव। रामस्यार्हसि पिङ्गेश कर्तुं सर्वात्मना प्रियम्4.29.26।।

tadevṃ śaktiyuktasya pūrvṃ priyakṛtastava| rāmasyārhasi piṅgeśa kartuṃ sarvātmanā priyam4.29.26||

Translation

पिङ्गेश O king of monekys तत् that, एवं शक्तियुक्तस्य exerting all your strength, पूर्वम् earlier, तव your, प्रियकृतः done the work desired by you, रामस्य Rama's, सर्वात्मना wholeheartedly, प्रियम् dear, कर्तुम् to do, अर्हसि will be proper.

Meaning

'Therefore, O king of monkeys you ought to oblige Rama wholeheartedly exerting all your strength, as he has done your work.

KK-29-27Kishkindha Kanda 29.27

नाधस्तादवनौ नाप्सु गतिर्नोपरि चाम्बरे। कस्यचित्सज्जतेऽस्माकं कपीश्वर तवाज्ञया4.29.27।।

nādhastādavanau nāpsu gatirnopari cāmbare| kasyacitsajjate'smākṃ kapīśvara tavājñayā4.29.27||

Translation

कपीश्वर O lord of monkeys, तव your, आज्ञया by orders, अस्माकम् for us, कस्यचित् of any place, अधस्तात् underground, सज्जते made possible, अवनौ on the earth, अप्सु in water, न or, उपरि up , अम्बरे च and in the sky, न or else.

Meaning

'O lord of monkeys commanded by you, each one of us or all of us together can ransack the underworld, the earth, or water or heaven.

KK-29-28Kishkindha Kanda 29.28

तदाज्ञापय कः किं ते कुतो वापि व्यवस्यतु। हरयोऽह्यप्रधृष्यास्ते सन्ति कोट्यग्रतोऽनघ4.29.28।।

tadājñāpaya kḥ kiṃ te kuto vāpi vyavasyatu| harayo'hyapradhṛṣyāste santi koṭyagrato'nagha4.29.28||

Translation

अनघ sinless hero, तत् therefore, आज्ञापय you order, कः who, किं what, कुत:from where, व्यवस्यतु determine to act, ते your, कोट्यग्रतः more than a crore, अप्रधृष्याः invincible, हरयः vanaras, सन्ति हि at your service.

Meaning

O sinless hero therefore issue your command. There are more than a crore of invincible monkeys. Determine now who should do and what and in which place. We are at your service'.

KK-29-29Kishkindha Kanda 29.29

तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा काले साधु निवेदनम्। सुग्रीवस्सत्त्वसम्पन्नश्चकार मतिमुत्तमाम्4.29.29।।

tasya tadvacanṃ śrutvā kāle sādhu nivedanam| sugrīvassattvasampannaścakāra matimuttamām4.29.29||

Translation

तस्य his, काले at proper time, साधु honest, निवेदनम् advice, तत् वचनम् those words, श्रुत्वा on hearing, सत्त्वसम्पन्नः one who has great sense of duty, सुग्रीवः Sugriva, उत्तमाम् best, मतिम् mind, चकार set on.

Meaning

Sugriva who had a great sense of duty, started applying his mind, when he heard the honest advice of Hanuman.

KK-29-30Kishkindha Kanda 29.30

स सन्दिदेशाभिमतं नीलं नित्यकृतोद्यमम्। दिक्षु सर्वासु सर्वेषां सैन्यानामुपसङ्ग्रहे4.29.30।।

sa sandideśābhimatṃ nīlṃ nityakṛtodyamam| dikṣu sarvāsu sarveṣāṃ sainyānāmupasaṅgrahe4.29.30||

Translation

अभिमतम् his favourite one, सर्वासु in all, दिक्षु in directions, सर्वेषाम् of all vanaras, सैन्यानाम् army cadres, उपसङ्ग्रहे to gether, नित्यकृतोद्यमम् ever diligent, नीलम् Nila, सन्दिदेश sent

Meaning

He sent word to the ever diligent Nila, his favourite, to collect all cadres of army of the monkeys from all directions.

KK-29-31Kishkindha Kanda 29.31

यथा सेना समग्रा मे यूथपालाश्च सर्वशः। समागच्छन्त्यसङ्गेन सेनाग्राणि तथा कुरु4.29.31।।

yathā senā samagrā me yūthapālāśca sarvaśḥ| samāgacchantyasaṅgena senāgrāṇi tathā kuru4.29.31||

Translation

मे my, समग्रा all, सेना army, यूथपालाश्च group leaders, सर्वशः all over, असङ्गेन independently, यथा as, सेनाग्राणि O hero of the army, समागच्छन्ति will be assemble, तथा like that, कुरु you may act.

Meaning

'Let the entire army with leaders of different groups assemble here seperately. O chief of army act accordingly.

KK-29-32Kishkindha Kanda 29.32

ये त्वन्तपालाः प्लवगाश्शीघ्रगा व्यवसायिनः। समानयन्तु ते सैन्यं त्वरिताश्शासनान्मम4.29.32।। स्वयं चानन्तरं सैन्यं भवानेवानुपश्यतु।

ye tvantapālāḥ plavagāśśīghragā vyavasāyinḥ| samānayantu te sainyṃ tvaritāśśāsanānmama4.29.32|| svayṃ cānantarṃ sainyṃ bhavānevānupaśyatu|

Translation

अन्तपालाः chiefs, सैन्यं army, शीघ्रगाः swiftfooted, व्यवसायिनः guardians of frontiers, ये प्लवगाः monkeys, ते they, मम my, शासनान् orders, त्वरिताः quickly, सैन्यं army, समानयन्तु may get here, अनन्तरं कार्यम् the task to be done later, भवान् you, एव only, स्वयम् personally, अनुपश्यतु supervise.

Meaning

'Let the swiftfooted monkeys, guardians of frontiers, army chiefs muster soon in obedience to my command. You (Nila) alone should personally supervise the work to be done next.

KK-29-33Kishkindha Kanda 29.33

त्रिपञ्चरात्रादूर्ध्वं यः प्राप्नुयान्नेह वानरः। तस्य प्राणान्तिको दण्डो नात्र कार्या विचारणा4.29.33।।

tripañcarātrādūrdhvṃ yḥ prāpnuyānneha vānarḥ| tasya prāṇāntiko daṇḍo nātra kāryā vicāraṇā4.29.33||

Translation

यः वानरः such vanara, त्रिपञ्चरात्रात् after three or five nights, ऊर्ध्वम् over and above, इह here, प्राप्नुयात् may reach, तस्य his, प्राणान्तिकः death sentence, दण्डः punishment, अत्र here, विचारणाः thought, न कार्या no doubt

KK-29-34Kishkindha Kanda 29.34

हरींश्च वृद्धानुपयातु साङ्गदो भवान्ममाज्ञामधिकृत्य निश्चिताम्। इति व्यवस्थां हरिपुङ्गवेश्वरो विधाय वेश्म प्रविवेश वीर्यवान्4.29.34।।

harīṃśca vṛddhānupayātu sāṅgado bhavānmamājñāmadhikṛtya niścitām| iti vyavasthāṃ haripuṅgaveśvaro vidhāya veśma praviveśa vīryavān4.29.34||

Translation

साङ्गदः along with Angada, भवान् you, मम my, आज्ञाम्र orders, अधिकृत्य concerning, निश्चिताम् decidedly, वृद्धान् elderly, हरीन् monkeys, उपयातु approach, वीर्यवान् valiant, हरिपुङ्गवेश्वरः lord of monkeys, इति thus, व्यवस्थाम् arrangement, विधाय by making, वेश्म his residence, प्रविवेश entered.

Meaning

'In strict obedience to my orders, go with Angada to the elderly monkeys and inform them about my decision and order'. After making this arrangement valiant Sugriva entered his residence. इत्यार्षे श्रीमद्रामायणे वाल्मीकीय आदिकाव्ये किष्किन्धाकाण्डे एकोनत्रिंशस्सर्गः।। Thus ends the twentyninth sarga of Kishkindakanda of the Holy Ramayana, the first epic, composed by sage Valmiki.
