YK-35-1Yuddha Kanda 35.1

तेनशङ्खविमिश्रेणभेरीशब्देनराघवः । उपयातिमहाबाहूरामःपरपुरञ्जयः ।।6.35.1।।

tenaśaṅkhavimiśreṇabherīśabdenarāghavḥ | upayātimahābāhūrāmḥparapurañjayḥ ||6.35.1||

Translation

महाबाहुः mighty armed, परपुरञ्जयः conqueror of enemy cities, रामः Rama, शङ्खविमित्रेण blowing of conches, राघवः Raghava, भेरीशब्देन by the noise of drums, उपयाति marched forth.

Meaning

The mighty armed Rama, the conqueror of enemy cities, Raghava marched forth with the noise of the blowing of conches and the sounds of drums.

YK-35-2Yuddha Kanda 35.2

तंनिनादंनिशम्याथरावणोराक्षसेश्वरः । मुहूर्तंध्यानमास्थायसचिवानभ्युदैक्षत ।।6.35.2।।

tṃninādṃniśamyātharāvaṇorākṣaseśvarḥ | muhūrtṃdhyānamāsthāyasacivānabhyudaikṣata ||6.35.2||

Translation

अथ and then, राक्षसेश्वरः Lord of Rakshasas, रावणः Ravana, तम् that, निनादम् sound, निशम्य hearing, मुहूर्तम् for a moment, ध्यानम् reflecting, आस्थाय considering, सचिवान् ministers, अभ्युदैक्षत looked at.

Meaning

Ravana, the Lord of Rakshasas, looked at his ministers on hearing the sounds and reflecting for a moment.

YK-35-3Yuddha Kanda 35.3

अथतान्सचिवांस्तत्रसर्वानाभाष्यरावणः । सभांसन्नादयन् सर्वामित्युवाचमहाबलः ।।6.35.3।। जगत्सन्तापन्क्रूरोगर्हयन्राक्षसेश्वरः ।

athatānsacivāṃstatrasarvānābhāṣyarāvaṇḥ | sabhāṃsannādayan sarvāmityuvācamahābalḥ ||6.35.3|| jagatsantāpankrūrogarhayanrākṣaseśvarḥ |

Translation

अथ and then, महाबलः very strong, जगत्सन्तापनः scourge of the world, क्रूरः cruel, राक्षसेश्वरः Lord of Rakshasas, रावणः Ravana, तत्र, सर्वान् to all, सचिवान् companions, आभाष्य addressed, सर्वाम् every one, सभाम् entire assembly, संवादयन् speaking, गर्हयन् abused, इति this, उवाच said.

Meaning

Thereafter the mighty Lord of Rakshasas, a cruel one, a scourge of the world addressed the assembly of his ministers and spoke abusing them.

YK-35-4Yuddha Kanda 35.4

तरणंसागरस्यापिविक्रमंबलसञ्जियम् ।।6.35.4।। यदुक्तवन्तोरामस्यभवन्तस्तन्मयाश्रुतम् ।

taraṇṃsāgarasyāpivikramṃbalasañjiyam ||6.35.4|| yaduktavantorāmasyabhavantastanmayāśrutam |

Translation

भवन्तः time being, रामस्य Rama's, यत् that Hanuman, अस्यसागरस्य that ocean, तरणम् crossing, विक्रमम् valour, बलसञ्जियम् prowess, उक्तवन्तः have told, तत् all that, मया by me, श्रुतम् heard.

Meaning

"You have told me about the valour of Hanuman the messenger of Rama and his prowess in crossing the ocean which I heard just now."

YK-35-5Yuddha Kanda 35.5

भवतश्चाप्यहंवेमदियुद्धेसत्यपराक्रमान् ।।6.35.5।। तूषिकानीक्षतोऽन्योन्यंविदित्वारामविक्रमम् ।

bhavataścāpyahṃvemadiyuddhesatyaparākramān ||6.35.5|| tūṣikānīkṣato'nyonyṃviditvārāmavikramam |

Translation

द्युद्धे in war, सत्यपराक्रमान् of truthful valour, रामविक्रमम् Rama's prowess, विदित्वा knowing, तूषिकान् stand mute, अन्योन्यम् each other, ईक्षतः looking at, भवतश्चापि I know you too, अहम् I, वेमदि know.

Meaning

"Even though you are truly valorous in war, on knowing Rama's prowess, you are standing mute looking at each other. I know that."

YK-35-6Yuddha Kanda 35.6

ततस्तुसुमहाप्राज्ञोमाल्यवान्नामराक्षसः ।।6.35.6।। रावणस्यवचश्श्रुत्वामातुःपैतामहोऽब्रवीत् ।

tatastusumahāprājñomālyavānnāmarākṣasḥ ||6.35.6|| rāvaṇasyavacaśśrutvāmātuḥpaitāmaho'bravīt |

Translation

ततः then, सुमहाप्राज्ञः very wise, मातुः maternal, माल्यवान् Malyavan नाम by name, राक्षरः Rakshasa, रावणस्य Ravana's, वचः conversation, श्रुत्वा hearing, पैतामहः grandfather, अब्रवीत् said.

Meaning

Then, Malyavan the maternal grandfather of Ravana, a very wise Rakshasa indeed said this on hearing Ravana's statement.

YK-35-7Yuddha Kanda 35.7

विद्यास्वभिविनीतोयोराजाराजन्नयानुगः ।।6.35.7।। सशास्तिचिरमैश्वर्यमरींश्चकुरुतेवशे ।

vidyāsvabhivinītoyorājārājannayānugḥ ||6.35.7|| saśāsticiramaiśvaryamarīṃścakurutevaśe |

Translation

राजन् O King, यः whoever, राजा king, विद्यासु all the fourteen sciences, अभिविनीतः path of justice, समामगः, सः he, चिरम् for long, ऐश्वर्यम् sovereignty, शास्ति ruler, अरींश्च enemies, वशे win over, कुरुते enjoys

Meaning

"O king! Whoever is well versed in all the fourteen sciences and is a follower of justice, he alone wins over enemies and rules the kingdom for long."

YK-35-8Yuddha Kanda 35.8

सन्दधानोहिकालेनविगृह्णंश्चारिभिस्सह ।।6.35.8।। स्वपक्षवर्थनंकुर्वन्महदैश्वर्यमश्नुते ।

sandadhānohikālenavigṛhṇṃścāribhissaha ||6.35.8|| svapakṣavarthanṃkurvanmahadaiśvaryamaśnute |

Translation

कालेन at that time, अरिभिः enemies, सन्दधानः encountering, विगृह्णान् expanding, स्वपक्ष one's own side, वर्थनम् acting, कुर्वन् doing, महत् great, ऐश्वर्यम् sovereignty, अश्नुते enjoys.

Meaning

"Continuing to act in that way in course of time a king who encounters his enemies and expands his own side, enjoys great sovereignty."

YK-35-9Yuddha Kanda 35.9

हीयमानेनकर्तव्योराज्ञासन्धिस्समेवच ।।6.35.9।। नशत्रुमवमन्येतज्यायान्कुर्वीतविग्रहम् ।

hīyamānenakartavyorājñāsandhissamevaca ||6.35.9|| naśatrumavamanyetajyāyānkurvītavigraham |

Translation

हीयमानेन when losing strength, समेवच with equal, राज्ञा with king, सन्धिः join, कर्तव्यः duty, शत्रुम् with enemy, नअवमन्येत not disrespecting, ज्यायान् quitting, विग्रहम् hostility, कुर्वीत do.

Meaning

"When a king is losing strength, he should join hand s with the enemy who is equal to him. He should not disrespect the enemy but quit his hostility and join him (if the enemy is more powerful)."

YK-35-10Yuddha Kanda 35.10

तन्मह्यंरोचतेसन्धिस्सहरामेणरावण ।।6.35.10।। यदर्थमभियुक्ता: स्मसीतातस्मैप्रदीयताम् ।

tanmahyṃrocatesandhissaharāmeṇarāvaṇa ||6.35.10|| yadarthamabhiyuktā: smasītātasmaipradīyatām |

Translation

रावण Ravana, तत् that, रामेणसह with Rama, सन्धिः join, मह्यम् for us, रोचते agreeable, यदर्थम् for which, अभियुक्ता: favourable, स्मसीता Sita, तस्मै to him, प्रतीयताम् restore to him.

Meaning

"O Ravana! Joining with that Rama is agreeable to me. Let that Sita for whose sake you have been attacked be restored to him."

YK-35-11Yuddha Kanda 35.11

यस्यदेवर्षयस्सर्वेगन्धर्वाश्चजयैषिणः ।।6.35.11।। विरोथंमागमस्तेनसन्धिस्तेतेनरोचताम् ।

yasyadevarṣayassarvegandharvāścajayaiṣiṇḥ ||6.35.11|| virothṃmāgamastenasandhistetenarocatām |

Translation

सर्वे all, देवर्षय: celestial sages गन्धर्वाश्च Gandharvas, यस्य their, जयैषिणः wishing victory, तेन therefore, विरोधम् enmity, मागमः do not, ते to you, तेन therefore, सन्धिः alliance, रोचताम् desirable.

Meaning

All the celestial sages and Gandharvas are wishing him victory. Therefore, do not have enmity. Making an alliance with him is desirable for you.

YK-35-12Yuddha Kanda 35.12

असृजद्भगवान्पक्षौद्वावेनहिपितामहः ।।6.35.12।। सुराणामसुराणांचधर्माधर्मौतदाश्रयौ ।

asṛjadbhagavānpakṣaudvāvenahipitāmahḥ ||6.35.12|| surāṇāmasurāṇāṃcadharmādharmautadāśrayau |

Translation

भगवान् God, पितामहः grandfather Brahma, सुराणांच deities and, असुराणांच devils also, द्वौ both, पक्षौएव orders, असृजत् created beings, धर्माधर्मौ virtue and vice, तदाश्रयौ taking refuge.

Meaning

"The divine Brahma, the grandfather of the universe created two orders, deities and devils. They took the refuge of virtues and vices respectively."

YK-35-13Yuddha Kanda 35.13

धर्मोहिश्रूयतेपक्षीह्यमराणांमहात्मनाम् ।।6.35.13।। अधर्मोरक्षसांपक्षोह्यसुराणांचराक्षस ।

dharmohiśrūyatepakṣīhyamarāṇāṃmahātmanām ||6.35.13|| adharmorakṣasāṃpakṣohyasurāṇāṃcarākṣasa |

Translation

राक्षस Rakshasa, धर्मः righteous, महात्मानाम् great souls, असुराणाम् and Rakshasas, पक्षी side, श्रूयते, अधर्मः unrighteous, रक्षसाम् Rakshasas, असुराणांच and devils, पक्षःहि being the side.

Meaning

"The great souls were towards righteousness and Rakshasas took the side of unrighteousness."

YK-35-14Yuddha Kanda 35.14

धर्मोवैग्रसतेऽधर्मंततःकृतमभूद्युगम् ।।6.35.14।। अधर्मोग्रसतेधर्मंततस्तिष्यःप्रवर्तते ।

dharmovaigrasate'dharmṃtatḥkṛtamabhūdyugam ||6.35.14|| adharmograsatedharmṃtatastiṣyḥpravartate |

Translation

धर्मः moral merit, यदा similarly, अधर्मम् unrighteous, ग्रसते destroyed, कृतंयुगम् Krtam Yuga, अभूत् not exist, अधर्मः unrighteousness, धर्मम् righteousness, ग्रसते eclipses, तदा so also, तिष्यः end, प्रवर्तते commences.

Meaning

"When moral merit destroys unrighteousness, it is called Krtayuga. So also, when virtue gets eclipsed by unrighteousness, it is called Kaliyuga."

YK-35-15Yuddha Kanda 35.15

तत्त्वयाचरयालोकान्धर्मोपिविनिहतोमहान् ।।6.35.15।। अधर्मःप्रगृहीतश्चतेनास्मद्बलिनःपरे ।

tattvayācarayālokāndharmopivinihatomahān ||6.35.15|| adharmḥpragṛhītaścatenāsmadbalinḥpare |

Translation

सत् being good, लोकान् the worlds, चरता ranging, त्वया by you, महान् great, धर्मोऽपि even righteous conduct, विनिहतः giving up, अधर्मः unrighteous, प्रगृहीतश्च embraced by you, तेन therefore, परे enemy, अस्मत् more than you, बलिनः stronger.

Meaning

"While you were ranging in all the worlds, you gave up righteousness and embraced unrighteousness. Therefore, the enemy who is righteous is stronger than you."

YK-35-16Yuddha Kanda 35.16

सप्रमादावदिवृद्धस्तेऽधर्मोहिग्रसतेहिनः ।।6.35.16।। विवर्थयतिपक्षंचसुराणांसुरभावनः ।

sapramādāvadivṛddhaste'dharmohigrasatehinḥ ||6.35.16|| vivarthayatipakṣṃcasurāṇāṃsurabhāvanḥ |

Translation

ते you, प्रमदात् mistakenly, वदिवृद्धः nourishing, सः he, अधर्मः unrighteous, वः those, ग्रसतेहि will swallow, सुरभावनः cause of celestials (to become powerful), सुराणाम् for the divine celestials, पक्षम् side, विवर्थयतिच grow in strength also.

Meaning

"You are nourishing unrighteousness mistakenly. Therefore, it is going to swallow us. It has become the cause for the divine celestial side to become powerful."

YK-35-17Yuddha Kanda 35.17

विषयेषुप्रसक्तेनयत्किञ्चित्कारणात्वया ।।6.35.17।। ऋषीणामग्नकल्पानामुद्वेगोजनितोमहान् ।

viṣayeṣuprasaktenayatkiñcitkāraṇātvayā ||6.35.17|| ṛṣīṇāmagnakalpānāmudvegojanitomahān |

Translation

विषयेषु in matters, प्रसक्तेन excessively engaged in, यत्किञ्चित्कारणा indeed for that reason, त्वया by you, अग्निकल्पनामा burning fire, ऋषीणाम् to the seers, महान् great, उद्वेगः agitation, जनितः created.

Meaning

"Being engaged in matters of sense pleasures you have created great agitation(disturbance) in the minds of the seers (engaged in penance) who resemble gods of burning fire."

YK-35-18-20Yuddha Kanda 35.18–20 (त्रिकम्)

तेषांप्रभावोदुर्धर्षःप्रदीप्तइवपावकः ।।6.35.18।। तपसाभावितात्मानोधर्मस्यानुग्रहेरताः । मुख्यर्यज्ञैर्यजन्त्येतेनित्यंतैस्सैर्द्विजातयः ।।6.35.19।। जुह्वत्यनगींश्चविधिवद्वेदांश्चोच्चैरधीयते । अभिभूयचरक्षांसिब्रह्मघोषानुदैरयन् ।।6.35.20।। दिशोऽपिविद्रुतास्सर्वेस्तनयित्नुरिवोष्णगे ।

teṣāṃprabhāvodurdharṣḥpradīptaivapāvakḥ ||6.35.18|| tapasābhāvitātmānodharmasyānugraheratāḥ | mukhyaryajñairyajantyetenityṃtaissairdvijātayḥ ||6.35.19|| juhvatyanagīṃścavidhivadvedāṃścoccairadhīyate | abhibhūyacarakṣāṃsibrahmaghoṣānudairayan ||6.35.20|| diśo'pividrutāssarvestanayitnurivoṣṇage |

Translation

तेषाम् their, प्रभावः power, प्रदीप्तः blazing, पावकःइव like fire, दुर्धर्षः difficult to overcome, तपसा austerity, भावितात्मानः greatpure souls, धर्मस्य virtues, अनुग्रहे following, रताः remaining, तेनित्यं all of them, द्विजातयः Brahmanas, मुख्यैः important, तैस्सैः standing firmly, यज्ञैः sacred fire, यत् curbing the senses, यजन्ति sacrificing, अनगींश्च into fire, जुह्वति offering oblations, विधिवत् traditionally, वेदान् Vedas, उच्चैः reciting, अधीयते chanting constantly, रक्षांसि Rakshasas, अभिभूय subdue, ब्रह्मघोषान् mistakes, उदैरयन् intending, सर्वे all, उष्णगे hot season, स्तनयित्नुःइव like rain clouds, दिशः directions, अपि besides, विद्रुताः running.

Meaning

"Their power is difficult to overcome as they are pure souls and blazing like fire by their austerity. They follow virtues faithfully intending to acquire merit like brahmanas. They are standing firmly curbing their senses doing sacrifices offering oblations into sacrificial fires following tradition. Having subdued the Rakshasas, they are continuing to recite Vedas and on hearing Vedas the Rakshasas are running away in different directions like the rain cloud is scattered in the hot season."

YK-35-21Yuddha Kanda 35.21

ऋषीणामग्निकल्पानामग्निहोत्रासमुत्थितः ।।6.35.21।। अदत्तेरक्षसांतेजोधूमोव्याप्यदिशोदश ।

ṛṣīṇāmagnikalpānāmagnihotrāsamutthitḥ ||6.35.21|| adatterakṣasāṃtejodhūmovyāpyadiśodaśa |

Translation

अग्निकल्पानाम् poured into fire, ऋषीणाम् by the seers, अग्निहोत्रासमुत्थितः into the sacrificial fires, धूमः smoke, दश all ten, दिशः directions, व्याप्य spread, रक्षसाम् of the Rakshasas, तेजः brilliance, आदत्ते take away.

Meaning

"By the spread of smoke in different directions from the sacrificial fires from the oblations offered by the seers the brilliance of the Rakshasas is taken away."

YK-35-22Yuddha Kanda 35.22

तेषुतेषुचदेशेषुपुण्येष्वेवदृढव्रतैः ।।6.35.22।। चर्यमाणंतपस्तीव्रंसन्तापयतिराक्षसान् ।

teṣuteṣucadeśeṣupuṇyeṣvevadṛḍhavrataiḥ ||6.35.22|| caryamāṇṃtapastīvrṃsantāpayatirākṣasān |

Translation

पुण्येष्वेव at holy places दृढव्रतैः determined firmly, तेषुतेषु those, देशेषु regions चर्यमाणम् performing, तीव्रम् intense, तपः austerities, राक्षसान् Rakshasas, सन्तापयति tormenting.

Meaning

"The intense austerities performed by the sages in different regions determined firmly are tormenting the Rakshasas."

YK-35-23-24Yuddha Kanda 35.23–24 (युग्मम्)

देवदानवयक्षेभ्योगृहीतश्चवरस्त्वया ।।6.35.23।। मनुषावानराऋक्षागोलाङ्गूलामहाबलाः । बलवन्तइहागम्यगर्जन्तीदृढविक्रमाः ।।6.35.24।।

devadānavayakṣebhyogṛhītaścavarastvayā ||6.35.23|| manuṣāvānarāṛkṣāgolāṅgūlāmahābalāḥ | balavantaihāgamyagarjantīdṛḍhavikramāḥ ||6.35.24||

Translation

त्वया by you, देवदानवयक्षेभ्यः Devas, Danavas and Yakshas, वरः boons, गृहीतः obtained, बलवन्तः strong, दृढविक्रमाः powerful valour, महाबलाः mighty, मनुष्याः human beings, वानराः Vanaras, ऋक्षाः Bears, गोलाङ्गूलाः monkeys with dark face, इह now, आगम्य come here, गर्जन्ती thundering.

Meaning

"You have secured boons of immunity against death at the hand s of strong and mighty and powerful valour, like gods, Danavas, Yakshas and human beings. The Vanaras, Bears and monkeys with dark faces are coming here now thundering."

YK-35-25Yuddha Kanda 35.25

उत्पातान्विविधान्दृष्टवाघोरन्बहुविधांस्तथा । विनाशमनुपश्यामिसर्वेषांरक्षसामहम् ।।6.35.25।।

utpātānvividhāndṛṣṭavāghoranbahuvidhāṃstathā | vināśamanupaśyāmisarveṣāṃrakṣasāmaham ||6.35.25||

Translation

विविधान् different, उत्पातान् rising up, तथा like that, बहुविधान् in various ways, घोरान् dreadful, दृष्टवा seeing, अहम् I, सर्वेषाम् all, रक्षसाम् Rakshasas, विनाशम् destruction, अनुपश्यामि foresee.

Meaning

"Beholding different dreadful ones rising up in various directions, I foresee destruction of all Rakshasas."

YK-35-26Yuddha Kanda 35.26

खराभिस्न्तिताघोरामेघाःप्रतिभयङ्कराः । शोणितेनाभिवर्षन्तिलङ्कामुष्णेनसर्वतः ।।6.35.26।।

kharābhisntitāghorāmeghāḥpratibhayaṅkarāḥ | śoṇitenābhivarṣantilaṅkāmuṣṇenasarvatḥ ||6.35.26||

Translation

खराभिस्न्तिताः emitting hot thunder, घोराः formidable, प्रतिभयङ्कराः very frightening, मेघाः clouds, लङ्काम् Lanka, सर्वतः all over, उष्णेन by the heat, शोणितेन by blood, अभिवर्षन्ति raining.

Meaning

"Formidable clouds are emitting hot and most frightening thunder drenched by rain of blood all over Lanka."

YK-35-27Yuddha Kanda 35.27

रुदतांवाहनानांचप्रपवन्त्यौस्रबिन्दवः । ध्वजाध्वस्ताविवर्णाश्चनप्रभान्तियथापुरम् ।।6.35.27।।

rudatāṃvāhanānāṃcaprapavantyausrabindavḥ | dhvajādhvastāvivarṇāścanaprabhāntiyathāpuram ||6.35.27||

Translation

रुदताम् weeping, वाहनानाम् carrying, अस्रबिन्दवः tear drops, प्रपतन्ति falling, ध्वजाध्वस्ताः horses and elephants, विवर्णाः discoloured by dust, यधापुरम् as before, नप्रभान्ति not shining.

Meaning

"With tear drops falling from the eyes of weeping horses and elephants (carrying army) they are discoloured by dust and are not shining like before."

YK-35-28Yuddha Kanda 35.28

व्याळागोमायवोगृध्रावाश्यन्तिचसुभैरवम् । प्रविश्यलङ्कामनिशंसमवायांश्चकुर्वते ।।6.35.28।।

vyāळāgomāyavogṛdhrāvāśyanticasubhairavam | praviśyalaṅkāmaniśṃsamavāyāṃścakurvate ||6.35.28||

Translation

व्यालाः wicked, गोमायवः jackals, सुभैरवम् most frightful, वाश्यन्ति vultures, लङ्काम् into Lanka, प्रविश्य entering, मनिशम् deep, समवायन् gather, कुर्वते crying.

Meaning

"Wicked jackals and vultures are entering deep into Lanka and gathering. They are crying most frightfully."

YK-35-29Yuddha Kanda 35.29

काळिकाःपाण्डुरैर्दन्तै: प्रहसन्त्यग्रतःस्थिताः । स्त्रियस्स्वप्नेषुमुष्ण्नत्योगृहाणिप्रतिभाष्यच ।।6.35.29।।

kāळikāḥpāṇḍurairdantai: prahasantyagratḥsthitāḥ | striyassvapneṣumuṣṇnatyogṛhāṇipratibhāṣyaca ||6.35.29||

Translation

काळिकाः coal black, स्त्रियः women, स्वप्नेषु in dreams, प्रतिभाष्य speaking, गृहाणि omen, मुष्ण्नत्यः plundering, अग्रतः before, स्थिताः standing, पाण्डुरैः yellow, दन्स्सैः teeth, प्रहसन्ति laughing heartily.

Meaning

"Women of dark colour like coal with yellow teeth are speaking unpleasant things standing before us in dreams laughing heartily."

YK-35-30Yuddha Kanda 35.30

गृहाणांबलिकर्माणिश्वानःपर्युपभुञ्जते । खरागोषुप्रजायन्तेमूषकानकुलैस्सह ।।6.35.30।।

gṛhāṇāṃbalikarmāṇiśvānḥparyupabhuñjate | kharāgoṣuprajāyantemūṣakānakulaissaha ||6.35.30||

Translation

गृहाणाम् in the homes, बलिकर्माणि offerings of food made for gods, श्वानः dogs, पर्युभुञ्जते are coming to eat, गोषु cows, खराः donkeys, प्रजायन्ते procreating, नकुलैहिः mongoose, मूषकाः rats सह also.

Meaning

"In the houses, food offerings made for gods are eaten by dogs, donkeys are procreating cows and rats of mongoose."

YK-35-31Yuddha Kanda 35.31

मार्जाराद्वीपिभिस्सार्थंसूकराश्शुनकैस्सह । किन्नराराक्षसैश्चापिसमीयुर्मानुषैस्सह ।।6.35.31।।

mārjārādvīpibhissārthṃsūkarāśśunakaissaha | kinnarārākṣasaiścāpisamīyurmānuṣaissaha ||6.35.31||

Translation

मार्जराः cats, द्वीपिभिः leopards सार्थम् having company, सूकराः pigs, शुनकैःसह dogs also, किन्नराः Kinnera, राक्षसैश्चापि Rakshasas as well, मानुषैःसह including human beings, समेयुः mating.

Meaning

"Cats are having the company of (mating) Leopards, pigs are mating with dogs, Kinneras with Rakshasas as well as human beings also."

YK-35-32Yuddha Kanda 35.32

पाण्डुरारक्तपादाश्चविहङ्गाःकालचोदिताः । राक्षसानांविनाशायकपोताविचरन्तिच ।।6.35.32।।

pāṇḍurāraktapādāścavihaṅgāḥkālacoditāḥ | rākṣasānāṃvināśāyakapotāvicarantica ||6.35.32||

Translation

पाण्डुराः white, रक्तपादाश्च redfooted, कपोताः doves, विहगाः birds, कालचोदिताः impelled by time, राक्षसानाम् Rakshasas, विनाशाय boding destruction, विचरन्ति move about.

Meaning

"The white and redfooted doves are moving about impelled by time spirit boding destruction of Rakshasas."

YK-35-33Yuddha Kanda 35.33

वीचीकूचीतिवाश्य्नत्यश्शारिकावेश्मसुस्थिताः । पतन्तिग्रथिताश्चापिनिर्जिताःकलहैषिणः ।।6.35.33।।

vīcīkūcītivāśynatyaśśārikāveśmasusthitāḥ | patantigrathitāścāpinirjitāḥkalahaiṣiṇḥ ||6.35.33||

Translation

वेश्मसु in the households, स्थिताः living, शारिकाः minas, कलहैषिणः grapple, निर्जिताः dead, वीचीकूचीति delight, वाश्यन्तः inhabiting, ग्रथिताश्चापि bellicose birds, पतन्ति falling down.

Meaning

"Minas living in households grappling with bellicose birds in delight are falling down dead."

YK-35-34-35Yuddha Kanda 35.34–35 (युग्मम्)

पक्षिणश्चमृगास्सर्वेप्रत्यादित्यंरुदन्तिच । कराळोविकटोमुण्डःपुरुषःकष्णपिङ्गळः ।।6.35.34।। कालोगृहाणिसर्वेषांकालेकालेऽन्ववेक्षते । एतान्यन्यानिदुष्टानिनिमित्तान्युत्पतन्तिच ।।6.35.35।।

पक्षिणः birds, सर्वे all, मृगाः animals, प्रत्यादित्यम् hostile, रुदन्ति crying, कराळः dreadful, विकटः monstrous, मुण्डः shaven head, परुषः male, कृष्णपिङ्गळः blackish, कालः time, कालेकाले at all times, सर्वेषाम् all, गृहाणि households, अन्ववेक्षते considering, एतानि all this, अन्यानि complete, दुष्टानि sinister निमित्तानि portents, उत्पतन्ति making appearance.

Meaning

All birds and animals are making hostile noise. Time is always coming in a dreadful and monstrous blackish form with a shaved head, morning, and evening. Considering all these sinister portents are making an appearance at all households.

YK-35-36-37Yuddha Kanda 35.36–37 (युग्मम्)

विष्णुंमन्यामहेरामंमानुषंरूपमास्थितम् । नहिमानुषमात्रोऽसौराघवोदृढविक्रमः ।।6.35.36।। येनबद्धःसमुद्रेचसेतुःसपरमाद्भुतः । कुरुष्वनरराजेनसधनिंरामेणरावण ।।6.35.37।। ज्ञात्वावधार्यकर्माणिक्रियतामायतिक्षमम् ।

viṣṇuṃmanyāmaherāmṃmānuṣṃrūpamāsthitam | nahimānuṣamātro'saurāghavodṛḍhavikramḥ ||6.35.36|| yenabaddhḥsamudrecasetuḥsaparamādbhutḥ | kuruṣvanararājenasadhaniṃrāmeṇarāvaṇa ||6.35.37|| jñātvāvadhāryakarmāṇikriyatāmāyatikṣamam |

Translation

रामम् Rama, मानुषम् human being, रूपम् form, आस्तितम् assuming, विष्णुम् Vishnu, मन्यामहे Lord, दृढविक्रमः fortitude and prowess, असौ oh, राघवः Raghava, मानुषमात्रः only a human being, नहि not, येन therefore, समुद्रे on the ocean, परमाद्भुतः most amazing, सः he, सेतुः bridge, बद्धः constructing, रावण Ravana, नरराजेन ruler of men, रामेण with Rama, सन्धिम् align, कुरुष्व make, कर्माणि action, ज्ञात्वा know, अवधार्य determine correctly, आयतिक्षमम् after careful thinking, क्रियताम् be done.

Meaning

Rama is Lord Vishnu in human form endowed with fortitude and prowess. One who has constructed an amazing bridge on the ocean is not just a human being. O Ravana! Align with the ruler of men, Sri Rama. After careful thinking and determining correctly, do what is good.
